Do you think Soraka needs another rework ?

She's been getting banned for a long time now and it doesn't look like it will stop soon. People hate to play against her and I can understand why. I feel like with the current kit, there's not much you can do about it. She needs a closer look at her again, rather than just changing some numbers. I love playing her and I just don't want to see her get nerfed continuously until she won't be playable anymore. I still miss the old Soraka, though. Salute to KirbyCake.

she literally just got reworked again. can you at least give it a month before asking this kind of question?

she got changed a little bit. by rework I meant of course a full rework. otherwise I wouldn't say a rework.

Making a healer that isn't either useless or frustrating is really, really, really hard.

Her entire role is literally "undo what you just did," and because you're not playing her, it looks like she does it with a single button press while standing in the back.

The fact that she got changed a little bit is the point. You should wait and see if it's possible to make people react well to small changes to Soraka before asking if you need to make big changes.

People aren't going to like her PBE rework. She doesn't heal more on multiple hits, there's still the health cost, and the HoT on the heal doesn't make me all that thrilled about actively trading with her.

I say just bring back old soraka, maybe tune down her healing a bit that way she can kind of be in a place like Sona. She can still be a great healer but also help in combat than just being a heal bot. Old soraka was so much fun offensively as much as defensively and in the current game state I honestly think she would be fine, since we have a bunch more all-in comps arising and juggernauts she is pretty easy to shut down

Linna Excel1 votes

Yes. I think the old soraka before they linked her Q and her W was her relatively best state she's been in.

Hex the FenFen1 votes

Honestly she really didn't need a rework. Some nerfs, sure, but not a rework I loved old Soraka.

Linna Excel1 votes

I agree. However morello was dying to make sure she got a rework instead of a tweak or two.

Hex the FenFen1 votes

Yeah and that's what makes me sad because old soraka was so much fun and I miss it :( she would have been fine in this meta

Should be de-worked since this new Soraka is more oppressive than the last. Then again, I really only play aram where she synergizes so well.

Sokara on ARAM is pretty nerfed though, the allied healing debuff hits her harder then anyone.

I like new raka. I liked old raka, and I liked the raka before old raka.

I feel like her mana cost on Q will go up soon; she can trade incredibly well early on now, instead of just playing super passive.

That's what I'm saying, she can get some numbers changed, but in the end people will play her passive again and just heal and again she's gonna get banned, because she won't be interactive. That's why I think she needs a complete rework, which I hope it would happen, but with the mage updates and shit, don't think it's gonna happen for a while. Season 3 Soraka was the best, I started playing in s3 and when I discovered Soraka, I spammed her so much and then she got played in the lcs and ... yeah.

Well, after the last rework, it is hard to balance her, because they apsolutely put all her kit on healing. Before you could be offensive or defensive with heal on 25 sec cd, it's on a 1 sec now.

Believe me, I would much like that, but I don't think going back is what Riot does best.

Spent about a half-hour thinking about what Soraka should be versus what her general community idea is. And I came to the conclusion the Starchild should be Enchanter and Debuffer and needs to have a cohesive reason to engage the enemy as opposed to preventing the enemy from "Acting" or "playing" when too ahead.

So I propose this idea for her rework.

Passive: Star-rush (Name in progress) Keeping the movespeed mechanic but adding a Stardust mechanic as such. Moving builds up to 100 stacks of Stardust at full stacks her next offensive ability silences the enemy target(s) for 2 seconds and does 50 + (10 times Soraka's level) Magic Damage.

Starcall: Similar mechanic however at the apex it marks the opponent with a Star if an ally attacks the marked enemy the allied champion gets a shield (numbers up to riot) for 2 seconds increasing 1 by each rank.

Astral Infusion Passive: Targets marked by Starcall and proc'ed heal Soraka and Ally for 10% of damage dealt and 5% of missing health. Active: Targeted champion gains 10% Lifesteal and Spell Vamp up to 20% at rank 5

Equinox: A Linear Skillshot that roots the target hit and explodes around the target for a slowfield and magic damage.

Wish: Calling on the blessing of the Stars Soraka enchants all allies with Star Energy giving a 4 second shield on top of Dual Penetration of up to 10/25/40 For The same time or until the shield is popped.

I see you thought this through. Nice ideas, tho.

I mean Soraka's biggest issue is that she's not interactive enough, honestly my ideas are based off of engaging the enemy being active forcing plays because you can not just sit behind tower letting your lane ally cs'ing until junglers force fights on you, And with a adding stats like lifesteal/spellvamp it allows her to let her laner sustain by fighting harder, not passively, meanwhile her self sustain is based on allies being aggressive and tactical, And dual pen buffs would allow her to finally have a turning tides type moment of glory. I mean she should have buffs and damage, not just negation. I wouldn't want her removing stats from enemies but adding it to her allies, and lifesteal/spellvamp is really cool, you get a mini olaf for a moment or two, and adding teamwide penetration is a way for her to tide the battle over for a Miracle.

Linna Excel1 votes

Why be interactive when you don't have to be and your heal costs health? The smartest thing for her to do is to use her ADC as a meat shield. I've seen people talk about her PBE rework saying she'll still use her ADC as a meat shield. I really don't believe she'll be interactive until her kit is changed enough that she can afford to be.

Her original kit let her and encouraged her to bully. I could AA-E-AA someone every 8-10 seconds for a nice burst of damage, it hindered trading back, and it didn't cost me any mana. The new kit doesn't let me do that.

Venetia Sylver1 votes

Her original kit fit in that slow and steady race to the nexus of season's beta to 2, when it felt like a battle to get to the nexus, Old soraka would get jumped to death after her heal got dropped from CD.

That's right, and they fucked that up when they gave her a 1 second cd on W, and the fact you can't heal yourself and you lose HP for doing it. Obviously you're gonna stand in the back, heal your teammates and survive.. so I don't get why they thought the rework would be more interactive.

She just needs to find her niche/what type of healing she wants to do.

Before this patch she was doing burst healing, everyone hated that because she could heal after trades and during trades.

This patch she can do passive healing and got her burst healing nerfed a little, she but still has her burst healing in tact so when those two are combined she can still easily heal during exchanges.

Riot needs to find out what type of healer they want her to be tbh.

Aye, bring back the bully utility mage healer.

LadyRenly1 votes

Soraka is nowhere near cancer on the level that Thresh, Blitzcrank or Nautilus is. I'll take her over any other support any day

option paralysis1 votes

Old Soraka had a 20 sec cd on heal, this one has 1 sec. I know, hp cost and all that but you can't make people not buy pots and stand in the back. That's why I never understood that change and I still hate the fact you can't W yourself because they made the cd so stupidly low.

option paralysis1 votes

I see people complain her win rate went up after the last change and she's obviously better in lane cuz of cc and rejuvenation that she can also give. And surely she will get nerfed again, because people will ban her... again. If there's not time for a full rework, you can also just give her back the ability to heal herself with W and remove the heal on Q, but bring the cd up like it was before.
