She deals way too much damage with no items

On average she deals 21000 damage to champs according to champ.gg

That's more than carry type solo laners like Jax and Fiora

zyra is not a problem. she's a heavy poke dmg support like brand, velkoz, lissandra, kennen, etc.

the counters to zyra are (a) having AOE dmg, since AOE kills her plants faster than single target spells, and (b) once her seeds are down, go ham, because she has nothing.

Well, I wouldn't agree - she still has a root and her knockup / zone deny ult

I've never thought of her as a problem, per se, but she does have a pretty high winrate.

The most dangerous thing about her ult is how it super-powers the plants she puts in it. If she has no seeds, her ult is just a big knockup.

Zyra is strong, for sure, but not broken.

And what is her win-rate again? Since her pre-rework winrate is always around 52-53%.

brand and velkoz are very much meta supports. brand was even played at worlds.

lissandra and kennen are less popular supports for sure, but still played quite a bit.

Just play against Zyra as Syndra in mid lane. She was 3 9 2, and I was 19 2 7. Got myself a Penta, I don't see how she is the problem. You know why she can't be in mid lane and mostly in bot lane? "Unreliable cc and damage". She pokes hard herself and only good when having someone back her up (hello ADC) when she misses abilities (especially her root). She can do huge amount of damage at the end of the game but those damage are "PLANTS" Damage lol. If enemies have tanks or healing champions like soraka and sona. Those damages become irrelevant. Learn to play the champion and you will see how easy to kill her. God I love playing against Zyra lol. With Assassin items like Edge of Night, you literally have more windows to burst her before she bursts you. She also have to land her abilities to be useful.
