Are they going to Texture Rebalance Zhonya's sometime in the future?

They are doing it to a lot of characters in the game but zhonyas still looks awful and noisy.

It should look like a golden statue not that the Champion that uses it got horribly consumed by terribly dirty gold.

All I know is, Zac posing with Zhonya's is hilarious.

Your post isn't constructive at all, but it's so true I have to upvote it :P

Ah, I see the problem. You're using Zac as your example.

Zac is going to stretch and distort any texture they use for Zhonyas simply because of the way his model works.

Even in the sections where zac is normal sized-positioned it looks awful.

I added pictures of Darius and Draven, looks even worse.

A number of effects need touching up, to be honest: item 3010 item 3057 item 3023 item 3078 item 3143 item 3025 item 3100 item 3156 could all use effect updates, especially sense item 3057, and item 3078 share particles with Nunu and Warwick, and item 3153 shares particles with Trundle.

Don't you dare touch my spooky ghosts. Also I really like the IBG effect, though it is a bit invisible sometimes.

Lt Cuddles1 votes

Who knows, we may get even spookier ghusts o ~o

FluxBound1 votes

I don't think item 3156 needs a retexture, it's a pretty normal shield like Alistar's ult

Lt Cuddles1 votes

Have you taken a good, long look at it?

ParinoidPanda2 votes

I think the 3 updates to item 3068 were infinitely more important than these.

Lt Cuddles1 votes

I consider all to be important, unless that's sarcasm, I can't tell :P

Is that a Halo grunt on the right middle side o_O

Don't you dare touch my Zhonya's!! I love some of the weird and random ass animations that you get sometimes...

Kingsgrave14 votes

The animations are fine, the texture during Zhonyas isnt.

Really though this conversation got stupid off topic. We're supposed to be talking about how noisy the golden effect of zhonas looks and instead we're talking about texturing zac and rebalancing zhonyas. Cmon people stay on topic!

A screenshot of it would be great just because i have poor visual memory

Just remove it.

No

Yeah Zhonya's could use a little Texture upgrade.

DaCush1 votes

Agreed they should change the texture as well as the ap so you buy it for the utility and it's more than just an ap caster item.

Actually, it doesn't have to stretch for people who know anything about textures ^-^, since its not actually an object like a chair, the texture can be tiled and positioned and zoomed in and out and the object can move and it will always display correctly.

Roads in games are a good example, some games build their roads by interpolating a base road mesh so it smoothly transitions to the next road, making the road longer by simply adding more road. This works because the texture is infinitely tiled and keeps tiling as the road requires more and more of the same texture. This is a long way of saying its been done since the days of the first mariokart.

Thunder Dreamss1 votes

Tiling could still look strange on Zac because of the way he stretches. Roads and earth are easy to tile because you can make a square tile and then just expand more squares in every direction. Zac's surface area is vastly distorted meaning tiles would be liable to look strange as tiles don't line up properly and as he moves without his texture moving.

RomanMVP2 votes

Not really, it will never be distorted.

Go in any modern engine like unreal, import some ridiculous model, apply a HD gold texture and it will never stretch. And also, any tileable material will never not line up properly, thats like saying parrellel lines will not line up.

Thunder Dreamss1 votes

Take a perfect grid pattern. Tile it on top of a sphere. Now stretch the sphere into a tube wrapped into a Doughnut shape. You're either stretching your tiles or they don't match up evenly anymore.

Snow Fawn Puppy1 votes

... Or you re-map the tiles placement so it always keeps the texture's original aspect ratio. Do you really think that nowadays, humanity is unable to compute textures that don't look distorted when the associated model is stretched?

At least, if you don't know and you don't wanna bother even thinking, just read what people who know stuff are teaching you :)

GoldenLeSpoink1 votes

I agree, and afterwards they can add something like Zhonya's for AD.

Boulderox1 votes

Zac is a beautiful statue, come on, all we need is a solid gold pedestal spawn underneath XD

PickleBabah1 votes

That's the beauty of it, good sir.

BlackRaven1 votes

hoping they balance it in total for being such a broken item. inc ap mains to whine

Jamnon1 votes

Isnt that the idea? To look aweful and noisy?

Gretch1 votes

Thought about posting something similar a while back. Even when the texture isn't stretched or re-sized oddly, the base texture still looks really gaudy and in need of an update.

Aengy1 votes

That screenshot is a prime example of why they shouldn't :'D

Kingsgrave1 votes

Here is a prime example I made the first image in the OP: http://i.imgur.com/TGC1Gr9.png

Just look at how awful it looks

Ironclad Dragon1 votes

Immortalized forever. Glorious, indeed!

SleepyLionCub1 votes

TBH, they should just make it stop being gold alltogether Why the fk does an hourglass make you gold? Imo, the champion should just turn into a big hourglass with sand falling down, When the sand reaches empty, the spell wears off.

But hey, thats just me.

Kingsgrave1 votes

"You withstand the tests of time and become immortalized in gold for a duration"

Honestly should be the description of the item
