This whole MMR vs Rank thing is getting ridiculous...

I just finished a game where one of my allies finished his 10th placement match for flex queue.

We won, and he got placed in to plat 4.

So the MMR of that game was Plat 4 level, what else could it be? That's the only real way to tell what the MMR of a game is, right? When someone places out of a game, it says what their MMR must be after that game.

Except I'm in that game in Silver 1.

Why the hell am I in silver 1 with plat 4 MMR? Yes, I gain 26LP per win and lose about 14LP per loss. Yes I've skipped a division (from silver 4 to silver 2 - yet I only went silver 2 to silver 1 and did not skip a division or the series). I don't care. That discrepancy is too big in my opinion. I should not need to beat plat players (not even plat 5 who are dropping, but legit plat 4 elo it looks like) in order to get in to gold. That's ridiculous.

And you wonder why people rage in ranked. Sure, 80% of the players are in silver, but if 20% of those players are legitimately gold/plat skilled but are in silver because they're playing against plat players - seriously?

Um, it was not Solo q, it w as Flex q. He is Gold 5 in Flex Q, you are Silver 1 in Flex Q, what is the problem?

he was probably duo with someone. and the system should have put some players with higher mmr than the rest of your team to average out the difference.

Those are assumptions. We have no way of finding out the exact MMR of a player.

"but if 20% of those players are legitimately gold/plat skilled but are in silver because they're playing against plat players - seriously?" You're logic contradicts itself. If they deserved to be in plat, they WILL without a doubt eventually climb to plat. Even if it takes a thousand games over a few seasons.

"I should not need to beat plat players (not even plat 5 who are dropping, but legit plat 4 elo it looks like) in order to get in to gold. That's ridiculous." The only reason you gain so much LP in the first place is because you're winning against platinum players. You should be happy because beating them will help you learn faster and allow you to skip divisions. Would you rather climb at a snails pace while curb stomping noobs or struggle to win against gods? Either way those players just have low MMR and/or were on huge loss streaks.

Nm I thought you were talking a bout the P3 solo Qr. Yea that other guy went 7-3 and placed in Plat 4 Flex. He also did a bunch o his games with a person that was Silver 5 in Flex which brought him into your MMR range. When you are unplaced in fledx you can premake with Bronze - Gold.
