@Riot; I understand new champ select is here to stay, but could you at least get rid of autofill?

It is, hands down, the absolute worst part of the new system and a million times worse than the old system we had (Pick order).

I don't get what's so bad about it. Auto fill once get your next choice 100%. You can bear doing something other than your main, and if you're a one trick pony why are you even in ranked?

If someone gets to punch you in the face once per day but then the government tells you "Well the next day you WON'T get punched in the face!" , would that be a convincing argument for you?

That argument has no analogy to this. A better example would be like "hey, you need to do this case even though it's not what you're comfortable with and tomorrow you can pick any case you want"

A punch in the face would be like, hey we're gonna ban you but it's cool, you can make a new account

Silver 4.

It REALLY sucks playing a game and being put as something else. Most high MMR players can play 2 rolls + support. Imagine, getting filled as an ADC and being a complete drag on your team, being responsible for that loss. Going from playing Tanky DPS all the time, into a marksman or mage is a pretty big change. Not to mention, you're paired with someone who mains and understands their role, and will just stomp your base knowledge on said role.

Like, Imagine someone is coming into ranked for the first time, and their real skill level is bronze. 5. But, they're starting at silver 4. They go 0/18 and you lose your promos. You don't have a choice, you were matched with them.

Auto fill is kinda the same. Under soloQ we could negotiate our rolls. Now, under dynamicQ we don't have a choice when we're autofilled. I'm nearly diamond, already playing against D5's and 4's and i can honestly contest that this is a terrible feeling and i wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm also scared of being Autofilled jungle, not because i can't do it, but because i can't do it at a diamond level and don't ever want to.

Idiots who defend autofill have never played in a game where they lost in champion select because their support can't actually play support

We lost a game at champion select when both our ADC (me) and support were autofilled against the enemy's premade bottom lane. they both mained the role and had higher rankings than either of us, so it was just a slaughter (especially since they were premade with their jungler who ganked us after their first camp).

The only consolation is that everyone else on our team fed just as badly.

Honestly, I've started looking up all my supports on OP.GG to see if they actually play the role.

I'd try to wait out Dynamic Queue and just not play while it is active, but I haven't seen it not be enabled for weeks.

This. I don't understand why this thread is so downvoted. There are too many people who lost their games because of them being autofilled into a position that they don't know how to play effectively (e.g. toplaner autofilled into ADC) and that is where the source of frustration comes from. Also, autofill =/= dynamic queue, and Riot should seriously consider an option for players to disable autofill at the cost of a longer queue time (which is what most players want anyways).

Do you even tried to understand why there is autofill? Or just randomly is an issue for you because it forces people to play Support?

Did you know that no one queues for Support (or almost no one) and autofill is a way to reduce queue times?

It's the best part of the new entire champion select, making people play support.

I didn't play ranked in the old system, but I have friends who did and they told me that 50% of time, people would dodge if they would get support.

yeah, 'cause what we needed was people getting shoved in a role they can't play and being tilted before the game starts

I did. He did too, look at his badges. Plat Plat Diamond.

Autofill exists to be a cancer that high elo players have to deal with. Because, under the old system you could negotiate. You could have also possibly been in a game with several others who don't main the roll and it would have given you a shot at succeeding. You had to main 3/5 rolls. Now imagine being a Tanky player, playing Sion / Zac / Malphite that sort of thing, and being placed Mid or ADC and having to provide that sort of positioning and kiting mechanics. Not only is the lane played drastically different, but so is mid game and the skills are completely changed.

Imagine someone having the skills for a roll, being 3 elos below you on a roll on your team, without the ability to negotiate for their rolls. It's terrible.

I would much prefer longer queue times if it meant having a higher quality match in which everyone knows how to play their role and enjoys doing so.

I generally just read or watch videos during the queue, so it really doesn't matter to me.

Meanwhile I'm sitting over here thinking support is fun and therefore have never autofilled. I also haven't even notice a decrease in queue times as a result of its introduction :/

Sanctimonious1 votes

My friends D4 account, he plays nothing but support. After one game, a pop up came out and said " You have recently been auto filled! guaranteed your roll next game!" He's like what, being a support main is now considered autofill? Rito pls xD

WarlockLaw1 votes

I've actually had that pop up after playing normals while selecting "fill." Of course I keep picking fill and it never goes away.

Why can't you learn to play more than two roles like most people in Diamond? It's not that hard, especially because a lot of champs can go in more than one role.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

The new champion select system is perfectly fine. Queue times might be longer, but there are far fewer players fighting in champion select and trolling because they didn't get their role.

I never really cared about queue times anyways. I just read or watch a video during them so there is little difference between a one minute queue and a 10 minute queue for me.

Dynamic Queue and autofill are far more annoying, but it seems like we are stuck with them for the foreseeable future.
