The only restrictions on premades are at Diamond+. There's an option for solo queue at Diamond with the maximum of 3 to a group. According to the last update, challenger players are forced into a Solo Queue.

Very Hard Engage1 votesexcept for the point where in 100% of matches, the pregroup ignores the solo q player, makes their own group based decisions and excludes the solo player and expects them to keep up.
the only reliable thing about DQ is that it happens on the enemy team just as much balancing it out.
riot still wont touch or influence that aspect DQ has offered us.

I honestly dont know why they got rid of Team Builder.
-It was Ranked -You got the role and lane you wanted. -Plus no one was forced to play a team comp they did not agree with for fear of getting a dodge penalty.
Very Hard Engage1 votesthe issue was 30mins to start a game and someone had to go out of their way and say "i want to support" or ya know, 8mins to find teemo/rengar/riven support.
VvVVvV1 votesill gladly wait 30 min a game if it gauranteed everyone on the team got the lane and role and comp they like..........thats gets rid of over half of teams arguments right there. your chances of winning will improve so much.
Very Hard Engage1 votesexcept when riot had to pull from both bronze/plat players to find someone to join at all, and then its a feed fest one way or the other. it put too much matchamking power into the hands of the players.
