"Make It Fast, I Have To Leave In 30 Minutes"

VvVVvV··164 votes·6,526 views

Damn it people stop coming into a ranked game, or really any non bot game knowing you dont have time to finish. These people that do this need to get some type if extra ban time or something. Going into a game knowing you have little time to play and then intentionally afking when time runs out. I mean its right there in the chat...whoever at Riot that goes over the reports when they see this something needs to be done...without there having to be a history of afking.

I can understand an emergency....but when you sit there in champ select and say nothing about being short on time.....but then when game starts all the sudden you have to go soon...wtf

completely with you on this, emergencies happen, and that's fine, but when you knowingly enter a game that you are on a very tight time limit, than you are just a asshole : /

Even I don't do this and I stomp mid lane and make enemy team ff 20 minutes.

Even more annoying are the people who do that, then after that time constantly spam surrender votes but don't actually leave. If you have something more important to do, you should just AFK and go do it, otherwise you're either using your time incredibly improperly or you were lying to us to begin with.

RocketRelm4 votes

Well the person that does this usually is doing it because they want to have an excuse for if the game goes bad to pressure everyone into ff, rather than genuinely try to win the game.

Then they are stupid AF because they are literally setting the game up to go bad.

But if they were a good player they wouldn't be doing this... so that's not a surprise.

When my friends show up to go to a place unannounced randomly for weekend shenanigans, I tell them to wait their happy asses in the car. They showed up unannounced and you can't just leave a game of League. Fortunately, they understand and wait for me.

That is annoying. I'm sure a lot of moms and dads get miffed when junior starts a game 20 minutes before time to go also. How hard is it not to enter a game within an hour before time to leave? Too hard for some I guess.

Fire the ice3 votes

There are times when they make them leave early or do something out of the blue.

ThePompf1 votes

If i had like 50 minutes left, ill go ahead and start a game.

Stalls that are THAT long are rare.

Maiziea2 votes

In some cases it's really the parents that are to blame, there are plenty of parents who do not tell their kids they have to go until just moments before. And me personally, when I was younger we never ate at a set time, dinner time was basically somewhere between 4 and 10 PM, luckily for me league wasn't a thing yet back then, I just played runescape and could log off basically whenever lol. You shouldn't really judge them without knowing their situation, I'm sure there are some that aren't a fan of having to choose between getting in trouble with their parents or getting in trouble on a game.

This! I hate this! I have had so many games where someone just pops out with "I have work soon so lets make this fast." or "I have to go in twenty mins so we have to rush this." Like... why start a game when you know you can't finish it? I have asked this before and it's always "I don't know." It drives me crazy.

Emergencies of course I understand, I had a game where a gentleman's wife was in a car accident and he had to go. That is completely understandable, dude go, absolutely afk. You can bet I won't be reporting you at the end of the game. But if you know for a fact you have to go soon then don't start a game, seriously, watch youtube or something.

AcidTheWarlock6 votes

Always schedule 45-90 minutes if you're planning on Ranked.

That way you have more time, especially if you need to get somewhere.

VoidStaresBack6 votes

Even 45 minutes is pushing it a bit, particularly in lower ELOs where players often have difficulty closing out game properly. An hour is probably a better minimum.

buckeyebob452 votes

Agreed, and don't forget it takes time to actually find a match, champion select and then loading time. Those factors right there can often be 10 minutes.

Lugg6 votes

Yeah, if you don't have at least an hour, don't play ranked. Hell don't even play normals.

Doing that should be an automatic ban.

I'm gonna post this for the people who seem to misunderstand what the OP is trying to say.

He's saying it's only excusable to leave the game when it's an emergency like something unexpected happened that's actually important. BUT, it's not excusable when u KNEW u wouldn't have enough time but chose to play anyways being the dickhead u are because u couldn't resist playing.

Ex. 20 mins into game- Oh shit little bro bleeding everywhere gotta go help (Excusable, GO SAVE HIM)

1 min spawn- Hey lets quickly wrap this shit up I only have 20 mins, everyone group mid and push (Inexcusable, u dickhead stop playing)

And some people don't even check if they have time. They just say "My mom didn't tell me". I mean you can take care of your self.

Spoofghoul3 votes

to which one should reply; go tell your mom to fk off!

followed by 9x your mom

OxyPoro4 votes

Also, the moment they mention it they start stressing their teammates out because "Oh lord better hurry up and win this lane" before ziggy mcdick here has to do whatever the hell it is they gotta do, making their entire team far more prone to making mistakes by default. Honestly planning to leave a game if it doesn't fit your schedule because "derp mcderp fuck your time my schedule is more important" and inducing that extra stress on your team should warrant even more severe penalties than normal.

TeCoolMage6 votes

I read 'extra stress' as 'exam stress' and I don't even have exams

oh god it's following me wherever I go

Jaysoon3 votes

Sometimes i just have an emergency and my mom will literally come upstairs and kill me if I dont get off lul

VoidStaresBack7 votes

As the OP stated, emergencies are understandable. It's the "oh by the way guys, I have to leave in 30 minutes and I've known this since I queued up" thing that's the problem.

Embertine3 votes

My brother and I have a motto, "Never queue up unless you have atleast one hour to play."

Sticking by that motto we've had no problems ourselves as it's rare for a match to last up to an hour these days, and even rarer for it to last past an hour.

Biff Manly3 votes

I never even sign into League unless I have over an hour.

J3diMindTr1cks2 votes

Yeah, I think the best thing you can do is report them for afk. Just put something about in the description.

SociopathFriend1 votes

I had one match where the fire alarm went off in the building I was in. I thought my response was perfectly valid.

"The Fire Alarm is going off- I need to go outside- please don't report me."

So yes, emergencies can happen (It was a drill- but not my building- so I had no idea) and they most likely happen more often the older you get (children). But people who have to leave for class in like 30 minutes should know better. I run a gaming club at college- every single LoL player in there knows they can't finish a game reliably in 30 minutes unless it's an ARAM. If they can learn, so can anyone else.

Sevixys1 votes

I have a brother of 8 years. I'm 17 and our parents are working most of the time. Last spring, when I was playing a ranked match[5 minutes gone from the game], my bro called:

he had broken his leg in a bicycle crash.

I explained the current circumstances for my teammates, took my bike and hurried for the place. Helped him home and did the first-aid.

Later, he went to a local health care with my dad - who came from the workplace - and I checked what had happened for the match - THEY HAD WON IT, FOR GOD'S SAKE!

An example of afking for a good reason. Ofc I did get some penalties but that doesn't matter.

Squidward Dab1 votes

See, this is a perfect example of reasonable afking. Then u have some dickheads 1 minute spawning in base telling everyone "k guys I only have 20 mins before dinner lets group mid and push to win glhf!!!"

The difference between the two: The first one was completely reasonable as it was an emergency and unexpected. The second one is completely unreasonable as you knew you had dinner but u being the dumbass u are just couldn't resist playing one more game like stop just go play twisted treeline or ARAM or custom. You sir, are the first example group and the better group

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

40 minutes is the max not 30

say you have to go in 40 minutes

after 50 minutes if you still cant win its reasonable but still against the rules to afk

if you have less than 40 minutes to play though then youre just an asshole

blkKalameet8 votes

no, thats still not acceptable

if you're going to play, you need an hour. if teams are evenly matched and not playing dumb and making stupid mistakes then its posible to go over that even.

if you want to play but are short on time, just don't.

Kürama1 votes

Tell them to come play Twisted Treeline. Our shorter game times fit them free time perfectly.
