How do you carry while getting camped?

Up 73 cs to 15cs on my lane opponent.

Get ganked by enemy Eve jungle at level 3 (before I can base for a control ward). Kill lane opponent during the gank (but die myself to Eve, but get both of their flashes). Come back with a control ward and escape the next two ganks, after which she realizes there's a ward and clears it. Die on the next gank after getting another kill on my lane opponent, getting both of their flashes again. Roam bot for a double kill, then die to a gank that I would have won 1v2 but then the enemy mid showed up as well (getting two of their three flashes).

My mid is 0/7 and my bot lane is a combined 2/11.

Seriously, if this was one game I'd be like "okay, I wasn't meant to win that one. Some games just aren't carry-able". This seems to happen a lot though. I figure there must be some way to win it. Just please, tell me HOW. How do I win a game where I'm trashing top but my mid and bot lanes are feeding while the enemy jungler is in my lane most of the time... How do I do anything when these guys always seem to have their summoner spells up explicitly for me. Like team, if you're feeding the least you could do is get their summoners in return...

For that game explicitly, I told them to buy control wards. They needed to see Eve. They were dying to her for free every time she ganked them. She needed to spend 20% as much time in their lanes to get just as many kills there (and not lose anything in return)...

Enough with my self-pity though. What's the solution? Do I need to start roaming a lot earlier? Purposely give up my tower really early and try to just gank for other lanes? Should I switch from teleport to ignite and try to get kills earlier? I've always felt like my lane opponents are super passive against me anyways and I only really succeed against those that try to farm or fight me at all. If I take ignite I'll just persuade more to play passively.

Well, your fault was in giving Eve a kill. It doesn't matter how many kills you have top or how far ahead you are top if you don't move around the map or make something happen. Giving an enemy jungler an early kill, especially on Eve, can allow them to snowball their other lanes and then just camp you the rest of the game. Not giving kills is more important than getting kills, and dying 1v2 gives their team kill and assist gold, while you only get kill gold from 1 kill, so you lose any 1v2 battle if you die without getting 2 kills.

Thanks - you're actually probably right here. I've found in the past trading a kill to the jungler is okay as a solo lane because you get more gold and XP than the jungler and can handle them better. But now jungler seems to have so much more say over the map since the latest changes - giving an early kill is even worse (although still, if you get ganked at 3 and trade 1 flash for 2 and 1 kill for 1, sure you come out a little behind but also their jungler had to gank it's not that bad of a trade. If your team is halfway competent they should benefit overall from that).

Pick a champion with strong late game power and/or good waveclear. Fiora, Jax, Irelia, and Illaoi are great examples for top lane. They're all powerful split pushers and duelists who can get fed early and can carry by either splitting or teamfighting.

If you split push, constantly be looking at your map and ping anything that you can see that looks free. Anyone who comes solo to try to fight you should die, and depending on how you're building, even sending 2-3 to fight you you should be able to kill them. Split top, get to the inhibitor tower, then go and split bot and try for the inhibitor. Bot inhib puts pressure on the Baron, which makes it the most important inhib in the game.

The really important thing is wave control during lane phase, though. Keep watching the map and use pinks a lot. If you can see the enemy jungler somewhere away from you, it's safe to go aggressive and try to kill your opponent, get fed, and push. However, the thing about all of these champions is that they can all carry from just good cs, so control the wave to be near your turret and just farm well and you can almost always carry. The biggest thing is to not feed or die to ganks. If you can attract ganks without dying, that's always really good if your team can capitalize on it. Pings are your friend with that.

By not dying to ganks, you are effectively making the game 4v3 for your team when you get camped, that is how you carry.

late answer, but in fairness, even if you make it a 4v3 for your team, if they're feeding out of their minds it won't make a difference. at least not as much as it would if you got fed yourself and could win the 1v2s

you either kill the jungler, roam, or you don't carry

You can trade a tower to grab resources selfishly to carry or trade it for another tower. But without help you probably wont carry unless you get another chance.

That said though, while I make it look like you have very few options, said options are not as far fetched or difficult as they may seem at a glance

PS

you aren't really being camped if they aren't even diving you yet, you're just being picked on a little, in that case just suck it up and do some smart wave control
