The prevalence of Rek Sai; Justified nerfs?

Dominick Destine··2 votes·695 views

We now know that Rek Sai is going to take it up the mid-section with nerfs in the next patch (I.e. vivisection).

But I have seen Rek Sai in the majority of my matches (Plat+) and yet http://champion.gg/champion/RekSai shows her at 48% win rate with only 5% play rate.... it's like, what? are these nerfs justified when Yasuo, Zed and Lee have been broken for so long?

yasuo and zed are exhaustables. They can't do anything when exhausted by a normal player, imagine how little they can do when frame-perfectly exhausted by an experiences player who performs 300 actions-per-minute.

Lee is strangely balanced, which is to say he's deadly in the right hands, and not deadly in bad hands. People refuse to use him because his best jungle item isn't late game material.

Rek'sai gives as much control while being significantly less fragile. She's way too valuable now that teleports are nerfed. Chiefly, we're seeing her as one of two junglers in every single professional game right now.

Where's the goat lady go? If we're not even seeing Kindred, we've got something going on in the jungle. My guess is they want to see more of her. Or anybody else really.

EDIT: I forgot about Graves, we might see tons and tons of Graves. He's too good at jungle, he's my vote for the next prevalent jungler

everything you said is dead fucking on.

graves might be good. He was more of an OP gimmick at the time.

no they aren't https://champion.gg/champion/Zed/Middle https://champion.gg/champion/Yasuo/Middle https://champion.gg/champion/Yasuo/Top not broken

Did you even bother following those links?

Yasuo is especially egregious.

the win rates are 48% 50% 52% that is hardly OP at all.

the win rates

The pick and ban rates are there, follow your own links and review the clusters of data.

High pick rate deflates win rate. Low pick rate inflates win rate. High ban rate indicates overpowered character.

7% 10% 11% play rates. Nothing there is special. Ban rate don't mean shit 80% of the time. It just means they are frustrating to fight.

Reksai is seeing more playing because of other junglers have been nerfed. This is either due to flat nerfs to the champion, or nerfs to specific items. Nidalee Rammus Udyr Elise MasterYi Shyvana are all regular junglers that have been modestly nerfed in several past patches.

I am even starting to see Sejuani again after not seeing her for almost 5 months regularly in the jungle.

Rek'Sai has been one of the strongest junglers since release. The only reason you don't see her played more is that she does take some practice to really master and every meta has some really broken junglers that get picked over her.
