I do not understand the Low Elo attraction to blue smite

In low to mid elo, not a single jungler will grab item 3715 , no matter who they are playing, despite almost all of the time it being a better option.

They don't use item 3706 slow to secure kills when gankin, in fact the don't really use it much at all. Not to get away, not to close gaps, just to have it.

Even Kayn players will still grab item 3706 despite item 3715 literally doubling your passive orb gain on ganks.

item 3715 has more damage than item 3706 and has a 20% damage reduction from the smited target. This thing early game makes you virtually unkillable and nearly guaranteed to win any jungler on jungler encounter. It makes tanky junglers vastly more tanky, and it makes damage junglers more damaging.

It's at the point where If im smurfing and my jungler/their jungler grabs blue smite, it's clear they have no fucking idea what they are doing.

You have red buff, you do not need the smite slow. In higher ELO there is times and reason to take both smites, but universally item 3715 is better in low elo, so what's the attraction????

There are too many hyper mobile champs...in the new jng meta.. if you miss a gank or die it can set you back too much. Too where most can not recover..

if they are not using it.. thats a skill problem.. but blue smite + nimbus cloak, secures kills

is it optimal? no.. but in low elo when you get no gank support from laners, its almost a must

Blue is the superior color, and fasion is the real end game of any multiplayer game.

nope, blue smite is very good, because it can take out spell shields and help gap close making your ganks more likely to work, unless u are a hard skirmisher blue smite is better

On Kayn blue smite allows you to mark any target for ult on demand, just by using blue smite on them, I don't know if they have changed it, but last time I checked long ago, red smite doesn't mark the enemy for ult

Your explanation is a mirror of what another low elo jungler would say about red smite. You are plat and also low elo, it is foolish to talk about other low elo junglers without actually understanding the game.

Depending on the ladder position, attack move for melee is not always an understood mechanic. So many players get more autos off blue smite because they don't move in-between hits or kill animation lag. Resulting in higher damage results when they test the two and more successful early game ganks.

My opinion, not to be taken as a fact.

As someone who plays teemo jg and who takes smite into toplane, blue smite lets him kite effectively. Mobility creep is a problem and everyone outruns teemo, so if people gapclose onto me i can w and blue smite and run fast away and then kite and more effectively. Even with red smite i can't just facetank them, they'll win or we'll both die, even though their damage was reduced 20% and i had a true damage dot on them. Against a team without many gapcloses or escapes, i will usually take red though, but it has to be a very ideal situation, and most people have a brain so they will just run away when you red smite them and then re-engage, and i play teemo so i can't just run them down because everyone is faster than me for some reason even though i'm "the swift scout"

Pretty much the only 2 I've ever seen take red smite in any elo are Yi and Mundo. It isn't just a low elo thing. Blue smite is just better in most situations.
