Climbing the Ranks as Support

RookPusher··1 votes·415 views

I'm told repeatedly by the knowledgeable drill sergeants of the forums that climbing out of the bronze is possible as support. I'm willing to sacrafice all the joy of this game to climb. Including playing the BS champs like Sona/Leona. Whats the best way to climb in your opinion?

Listening to all the jackasses on the forums is definitely NOT the way to do it, I can tell you that much.

So they shouldn't listen to you and actually listen to the jackasses on the forums? Wait..but then they should listen to you and not listen to the jackasses on the forums...

Oh god the paradox...... help!! D: :(.

Focus on what you can do better. Not what your teammates can do better.

Play the jungle, have a big impact on each of your lanes and make sure to get objectives when the enemy team leaves them open.

I climbed out of Bronze as support Soraka. Still climbing.

  1. The key is understanding that you are not there to get your ADC ahead. They are in bronze, they likely are not very good and probably won't be carrying any games without your help.

  2. Understand getting kills in lane is a bonus. It is now your main objective. This is why Leona supports and such I stay away from. IF you don't succeed in getting kills, you are very weak late game.

Play to win the game not the lane. I play Soraka and if she is banned I play Janna. Soraka carries bronze baddies. Your healing and sustain compensate for terrible players. Most people don't know they are supposed to kill you first and as long as you are not standing in the front line you get to heal your teammates in fights.
