A friendly reminder that Blind Pick is the worst way to intro people to LoL
And it should be replaced by TeamBuilder immediately.

Yeah, blind pick is the worst way to introduce people into lol, and not

The basic tutorials are absurdly outdated, and very lacking in basic info even. There should be different practice tutorials ranging from basic to intermediate, so players who are trying new champions have a place to practice in controlled environments.
I like Teambuilder, but Blind Pick I think isn't terrible enough to get rid of, when the problem is players don't know roles and champion identities well enough. Proper basic training would go a long way to making newer players interested in roles and champion identities enough to make them want to transition to drafts.
But they don't even know what roles there are. And seeing how everyone would just pick mid/assassin since it sounds cool, it'd take a while for a game to begin.
At least with blind pick, they all get to do what they want because a lot of them don't know the game.
Just so I'm clear on your logic, it's better to have them go in with whatever they feel like because at least it's quick?
I respectfully disagree.

I don't see the difference between some new players going in with what ever they feel like in blind pick or team builder.
Well for one thing, if you're plating with a friend they can explain what Champs play what roles.
But beyond that, TB would allow for easier modifications so that when you chose a role certain Champs could become highlighted.
Blind pick is a screaming match in an outdated interface.
The queue time for Mordekaiser in teambuilder was 30+ minutes for every lane/role.
I have level 7 mastery and 178k mastery points with Mordekaiser and have spent hundreds of hours optimizing his strategy. This was before the Mordekaiser rework at the time. I was 76 wins 46 losses in ranked with pre-rework Morde.
Being able to play a champion that fits your style is a huge part of League of Legends. Like it or not, egregious queue times caused teambuilder to shut down any sort of creativity strategy that made off-meta picks viable. Leaving it the only option to newer players would be a huge turn off.
Ask yourself: you are new player, game asks you to wait 30 minutes or more. Will you continue to play that game?
I STILL have no idea why this wasn't implemented.
This is a pretty BAD idea. Now hear me out.
New players have no idea what they are doing. - Let them innovate. They will learn what works and what doesn't. Don't enforce your "meta" onto them.
TeamBuilder would only work for people that played the game a lot. You need to know which roles a champion can play and how those roles can be best utilized on the map.
What about the fact you can't get smite until level 8? WHY. Just delaying people learning the game even further. When I was leveling up an account I had so many people saying they never jungeled before. Maybe give them the tools so they can learn?
In my opinion, all summoner spells should be avaliable at lv1 and some tutorials to learn the new players how to use them.
I can't imagine them enabling Smite at Level 1 without also making it so that you also have all rune and mastery slots available Level 1, and all accounts have access to all runes, considering how reliant smooth jungling is on both of those.
Which ... would not be newbie friendly at all. Say what you will about matching level 2s with level 10s and the advantages the level 10s have, but logging onto something like League for the first time and then being expected to fill out mastery pages and runes without any knowledge about what anything actually does would just be entirely overwhelming.
Sure, and modifications could be made to that as well. E.g. if prevailing logic says don't buy runes before tier 3, why give new players the option?
The game needs help. Keeping a death grip on BP isn't the answer.
I frankly wouldn't mind it at all if runes were either entirely removed and champion base stats ( and ability values ) were altered to accommodate, or runes were just simplified into choosing a stat spread - no dealing with grinding out runes or tiers, just straight-out give players the ability to min-max from the very start. Especially since most beginners wouldn't be able to take full advantage of it from the start anyway, given rune slots are locked by level and true newbies would just run whatever's cool.
If i had to wait 5-10 minutes to play a game i would probably never played lol, newer players wants more fast game. After you hit lvl 30 you probably care enough to wait the time for you role.
There's no evidence for this, and if you're trying to get a friend into LoL then play support
People were complaining that the new champion select took to long, it was like 5 minutes. People don't like waiting and wasting time and every time i try to use team builder i had to wait 20 minutes before giving up. If time wasn't a problem why do you think riot would do so much to avoid long queque waits.
I have some friends who are new in LoL and at lv 20 they have in their team and the other team 30´s . This should be changed too
what are you talking about? dynamic que has made entrance in to LoL so pleasurable at every level of the game.
its the best way. at least it used to be. after i started playing ranked you get the "dont take norms seriously" bronzies that troll and afk. i miss pre ranked blind pick. the most fun
