New 10 Ban System

Is perfect for organized teams just like draft selection. The only people who are complaining are the people that don't understand the concepts of picking and banning for maximum team composition efficiency.

This is coming from a person that's been solo queue since the start of my career in S2.

A champ that can fit into any composition is Amumu jg, but a selfish player would pick Tryndamere. Vice versa, you can ban Dwain because you don't want to lane against him, even though your team would prefer an Illaoi ban.

The system isn't made for selfish player, even in solo queue you should remain team oriented.

I have been playing this game since Season 1. I played on a college team for 2 years (one on a low team, one on the high team). I have attained challenger in ranked 5s.

When you are going into a competitive ban phase, your bans are practically never set in stone before you get into champion select. Your bans depend on what the enemy team is banning. You figure out what they are trying to do with their bans, and then you ban with what you believe is the best response. Making the ban phase completely blind has removed practically any and all strategical aspects of the ban phase in a solo queue setting.

What are your thoughts on duplicate banning and the "No Ban" option?

I think the new ban system is a punch to the face to all competitive players that have been playing this game for awhile. The blind pick style with Duplicate bans and the power to opt out of a ban creates an inconsistent banning phase. It promotes RNG elements into the pregame. Games can range from 0-10 bans per match making it cater towered the average player that plays the game casually.

I agree with you both to an extent and have even argued your point. I changed mt perspective after exchanging comments with a riot employee who in summary emphasized banning to compliment your team's composition, which still is the reason summoners select their champ intent wad implemented before ban phase.

Short answer: I generally agree with this assessment. I think that it becomes a serious problem if there are too many bans before pick phase. Because Riot's method involves all the bans to come before picks, there has to be some kind of rule or action that can potentially bring down the number of bans. I think that their entire method is flawed, in this sense.

My bigger problem is the fact that you can't re-actively ban. If you're blue side, you're going to intentionally leave stuff open so that you can first pick it. Red-Side is supposed to use their last ban knowing what blue has intentionally still left on the table. And you can get into further detail, but leaving the entire ban phase to RNG seems kind of bad to me.
