Pinks need a separate slot.

Exactly what the title says. Wards shouldn't use a freaking item slot.

And a mod better not come and delete this post because "iTs NoT dEtAiLeD eNoUgH dUr DuRrRrRr"

It's exactly as detailed as it should be.

I SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE 6 ITEMS AND 2 PINK WARDS AT THE SAME TIME!

This right here, it's also unfortunately why supports end up being ward bots in a lot of cases, they don't get as much income so vision is one of the most impactful things they can do with what they have. This becomes more true the higher the skill level of the game because those players gain more advantage from the information.

They just added one more bush in the botlane, and the new drake/jungle tra thingies. It's pretty evident they don't want to reward vision.

They make 2 points:

  1. Increasing the stakes lategame by not allowing full-builds to carry wards is intended
  2. They plan a larger structural change to how vision works and that adding a pink slot would just be a band-aid solution

This statement does generate some questions when you turn on your brain thou.

How does the issue require a solution if it's not a problem but an intended lategame mechanic? How healthy and fun is it to run out of vision exactly when you need it the most? Can you really choose to give up your 6th item for 2 pink wards on many roles/champions? Since when Riot's policy in updates is contrary to band-aids? Intended or not, do we have to like it?

I smell bull droppings

I will forsake my final item in favor of red wards on every non-carry role, meaning that I only have five item slots and a dedicated ward slot. It's time that we stop treating vision like this janky submechanic of League of Legends. Vision is League of Legends.

New lethality anti-vision is such nice example of rewarding vision to counter unexpected grey-screens... Oh that is other way around...

With the support item changes your gold gen late game is pretty trash tier, so the odds of you needing the extra slot is pretty slim lul

Post applies to top, mid, jg and carry as well.

The reason has always been that pink wards were counters to stealth champions, and always having a slot dedicated to fucking over those champions would be extremely shitty to play against.

It's a little different now, but still relatively the same. Imagine playing Shaco and every enemy in the game now has a dedicated slot to just fucking you over.

Teemo is another good example.

There are only 5 champions who are revealed by Control Wards during their stealth. However, it should be noted that these champions are also visible if you are close to them, without needing a Control Ward. They are: Evelynn (Passive after Level 6) Pyke (W) Rengar (R) Twitch (Q) Senna (E)

Also, while Camouflage can be revealed both by Control Wards and by standing near the stealthed champion, Camouflage also usually lasts longer than Invisibility. The shortest Camouflage in the game is Pyke's, at 5 seconds, during which he ALSO get's a huge Movement Speed boost, meaning he can still gap close quickly anyway. The longest, if you can even count it, is Evelynn, who can theoretically stay in Camouflage the entire game after she hits level 6. Comparatively, the shortest Invisibility in the game is Kai'sa's, as it lasts only half a second. The longest is Teemo's, which like Evelynn's, could theoretically last the entire game, though that would make for a very useless Teemo.

The only thing Control Wards actually do against Camouflaged champions is make it so that they can't just run through any path they like as much as they want to get to a target unseen 100% of the time. They have to, you know, actually worry about the possibility of getting caught out themselves. Essentially, if your team puts control wards at all of the riverside jungle entrances on your side of the map, then a champion like REngar or Evelynn can't just waltz into your jungle with zero risk and go kill the ADC farming a side lane in what should be a safe location. They would first need to kill the control ward, or else hope that the ADC and their team aren't paying attention.

So, basically, no champions get "fucked over" by Control Wards. If you become Invisible, they don't reveal you, if you become Camouflaged, enemy champions can see you just by being near you, so using a Camouflage ability when you're right in front of someone doesn't really do anything anyway.

In essence, you are right that OLD Pink Wards were massive counters to stealth champions back in the day. But that's just not the case anymore, since most stealth champions aren't revealed by Control Wards, and those that are revealed by them would be revealed by close proximity to an enemy champion anyway, with the Control Wards really just serving to prevent them from getting too much of an advantage from their longer lasting stealth.

Blue Shift1 votes

Old Pink wards cost twice as much and didn't last forever. You can place a control ward right now in a high traffic area late game like the entrance to the base and completely nullify certain champions.

Just like with the twisted treeline trinket, it made those specific champions much weaker by comparison because those champions are balanced around having their entire kit.

You make it sound like control wards can't be cleared.

Already happens to healing based champions with GW items, so why should stealth based champions be any different?

If as warwick or malzahar or mordekaiser the enemy team builds QSS, you are completely useless as a champ.

Blue Shift1 votes

Healing based champions are not severely affected by grevious wounds because of how much power creep has been added into the game.

I would agree with you on old Dr. Mundo before he was buffed a fuck ton to compensate and "balance" it out. The main problem is that many champions with healing based kits are just not very good right now and haven't been updated for some time. Fiddlesticks, Olaf, Maokai.

Look at champions like Volibear, Aatrox, or Nasus who all have healing based kits. They are all good, but I will agree that at certian points in the game grevious wounds can heavily affect them. For example mid game Volibear before Spirit Visage, and Aatrox mid game before he gets Death's Dance.

This is also magnified by the current damage meta meaning that healing isn't as strong due to everyone just bursting each other before healing is done.

Also, I think Mordekaiser's ult being cleansable was a very poor design choice, but they made his basic abilities/passive far too strong and I think realized that without counterplay to morde's ult, he would be way too dominant and cancer to play against.

Malzahar though is completely fair to be able to QSS the ult.

Malzahar is just an ult champ, if he can't land a full ult, he's worthless. His voidlings are essentially a dead skill much like Yorick's ghoulds, because for some reason they haven't fixed Malzahar and Yorick with the Zyra/Heimer treatment.

Even then he's a trivial champ with no burst and made of wet toilet paper with zero mobility, while his single CC to peel himself also CC's him so in teamfights the moment you ult you are a sitting duck yourself.

Malz may be a better Annie, but both are pretty terrible champs that live and die by an ult stun in a game where Syndra/Zoe/Ahri/Orianna exist.

Malzahar was my second most played for nearly 2 years, that is just not true.

He is one of if not the best in the game at split pushing. In teamfights you will most likely have Rylais+Liandry's for immense damage against everyone from the beefiest tanks to the most fragile supports. His ult is just an added benefit of if you can catch someone mispositioned or need to just peel a teammate. Against tanks though his ult is very good because most of it's damage is %hp.

Split push? lmao. Malzahar can't 1v1 anyone with the slightest bit of antiburst like maw of malmortius let alone anyone with the brain to buy QSS. Even with QSS good look out split pushing a half decent Fiora/Irelia/Tryndamere/Jax, or even Yasuo.

You are just making up random assumptions at this point without doing any research or testing. I played him for 2 years or so in the top lane and about 10-20% of the time mid for autofill/trading lanes.

His split push is incredibly good and with Rylais, few people can touch you. Not only this but if you build ROA or Seraphs embrace, you are very tanky for how much damage you deal. Think of him as the old Kayle, where once you farmed enough, you could pretty much just win any 1v1 and many times even 2v1s.

If youe ult doesn't work because your opponents are not braindead and bought either mercurials scimitar or edge of night, or it was a red kayn with spirit visage, you ain't 1v1'ing shit. Nocturne is another one. Malzahar needs to land a full EQW+R combo to 100-0 anyone and whiffing just one spell means death.

There should be an Inspiration rule for this. And another one, allowing you to place 2 pink wards at once. And another one, allowing you to place 5 normal wards at once. And another one, allowing you to make ward's vision broader. And another, allowing your ward to see over thin walls and bushes. There should be like 40 new inspiration runes, not only on wards. Make the "Creative tools" be more than "Choose three from 5 viable runes".

you arent saying why, so im surprised this wasnt removed.

meanwhile i had a post removed complaining about ashes and lucians voice over being terrible, saying why (forced, feel overly angry, trying too hard). maybe it was because i posted it in gameplay, but they should have just moved it if it didnt belong there (voice acting in-game can be considered gameplay).

they cant move boards posts anymore and they've said that a lot in the past month because people thought the mods were purposefully trying to hide their thoughts i guess? my friend had a post removed bc all it said was she wanted to kiss qiyana's thighs lel.

As nice as this would be, I personally believe this is the wrong response to the vision losses we have seen over the years. I think general trinket changes would be nice, but there are too many changes who could abuse this and/or be abused by this. I remember old wolves would put a ghost dog out, that was a really good mechanic as counter jungling could also give vision. I personally believe I should be able to buy more than two controls, but not have a separate slot for controls as it's a strategic mechanic. Do I keep the wards and win through vision and information or do I withhold from buying wards for more stats?

If you play literally any champion with stealth mechanics and people get full build, all chances of stealth are gone.
