Its solo que, ppl cant make proper use of his kit, while in the lcs teams can coordinate to maximize damage output while his ult is applied, but yeah, outside of his ult, he provides little to nothing other then being some mediocre ap dmg

The meta sheep reason for playing him: "He's a pro pick in the LCS."

Real reason to play him: No mana costs, point and click infinite sustain, lots and lots and lots of AOE damage/burst, W escape tool (very safe laning and team fight positioning), easy to aim team-wide damage amplifier Nuke with high AP ratio (Hemoplague = best ultimate in the game), no bad-matchups, can always buy item 3065 for laning immortality vs AP (even if your damage may go down a bit)... also, because CASTLEVANIA (and the sheer epic ness of the character running around while Ghosted, blowing things up with novas of blood and then running SUPER FAST when Stormraiders is procced like a feasting vampire driven to frenzy)
