I actually don’t think the bans did much for improving ARAM

To be honest, ARAM as a game mode isn’t supposed to be taken too seriously. That said, you still don’t want people to be miserable when playing it. Nothing is worse than being on a team with 5 immobile melees vs 5 long ranged mages. But the reality is that ARAM really is a feast or famine mode, and most champions either feast in this mode (long ranged mages; ADCS; a few fringe cases [pyke]) or famine (pretty much every immobile melee champion). If you get into a game where you have a fair balance of both, then the famine champions feel okay to play. If you get into a game where there’s mostly famine champions, then the games can actually be really fun (meat-stick wet-noodling for 10 minutes straight is hilarious). When you get into a game of feast vs famine, it’s fun for feast but horrible for famine.

My question is this: did 10 bans really do much to change this? Not really. And while there are certainly some really stupid ARAM champions, the reality is that there are very few must-ban champions, while there’s probably about 70 should-ban-if-you-can. What’s 10 bans going to do for that? Nothing really. You’re going to ban 10 stupid champions, and just make it more likely that the enemy team or your team will get another 10 stupid champions because people are going to reroll bad champions anyway. So all the bans do is create this illusionary correlation that ARAM bans and gameplay quality have a positive correlation, but they don’t. It doesn’t really change anything.

Here’s what I’ll say: ARAM bans are also an escape hatch for riot to justify poor balancing on ARAM. Instead of instituting bans, balance the game mode so mages don’t auto-win. Give melee champions better stats, better items and better spells to allow melee champions to succeed consistently so being ranged doesn’t auto-win. Easier said than done, sure, but expecting bans to fix the flaws of ARAM over actually balancing the game mode is just pure laziness if I’m being honest. And I am being honest, because I’m real af 💯

honestly bans helped in regard to aram accounts. say waht you want people use them and its annoying when you own all the champs and people only have the ops of aram or champs they want in aram. I honestly prefeered bans i atleast didnt have to see velkoz every fucking game anymore. and the major issue in aram atm is when you get fucked by rng and one team has an actual comp vs a random team.

I honestly think aoes need to have their damage reduced by 10 percent or a percentage perchamppion hit by it as well as the cc needs to be nerfed heals/shields need harder nerfs i stil l see rakas healing people like 400hp a heal like teh fuck/ shields should have reduced effects if stacked onto eachother. Revives/invulnerable- need larger cds into the late game or reduced effects if they have a stacked team melee- need some kind of sustain buff either hp regen or an item that gives massive regens at least if your under 50% hp to survive the first 10 mins mana regen either needs to be put to normal rates or item 3802 remove the regen on level bs of this item and give it normal mana regen stats instead. towers need to be changed to take a set amount of damage from autos from all champs and sources that way ranged or attack speed dont instantly take everything on the first ace. also buff tower damage in the sense of full ive teams just one shotting you under tower with 0 counter play. make it so that tower does increased damage per shot on the enemy team as a whole not just the one target. ex atm if i am not mistaken it focuses one champ and does increased damage per hit on to that one champ and then resets onto the rest make it so it does incresed damage on to all champs on the enemy team to prevent this annoying all in aoe dive insta kill thing that happens a lot in aram.
