I was suggesting you can free up a lot of clogged pipelines by giving people an incentive to play Fill. For example, I'm in the Bronze 5. In my opinion I can play any role better than the majority of my bracket, and I'm willing to Fill so long as everyone else gets the role they prefer - suggesting they'll be good at it and won't throw a tantrum.

To me, Fill here is risk mitigation. I give everyone else what they want, and the champ that they want (presumably) and that means my chance of success increases. What bothers me about the current state of affairs is that when I FILL, other people are also getting Autofilled.

It's more a matter of "Fill" being an almost guaranteed Support role, which is the hardest to carry with. If you're intent on climbing, it's harder to do it from support.

Depends on the bracket. I'm in Bronze and people typically don't want either ADC (#1) or Jungle (#2). I'm a support main and the good ol' days of Fill = Support are gone.

It's likely a combination of the jungle change memes, Pyke release, and ADC memes. Thank the heavens that support guarantees you autofill protection cause I do not want to play either of those roles either.

But I also don't plan on going back to bronze...

I assure you. janna is excellent for carrying. just permashield your ADC and they'll think they're good. ADC is in a good mood = ADC doesn't throw tantrums. ADC doesn't throw tantrums = win

Bro, on a very serious note, everytime I autofill (as soon as I get the autofill warning), I never even once got support. ADC most of the time, if not, sometime top, and jungle the rest.

Nobody want the botlane role.

I've had Jungle Fill twice. Every other time I've filled it's Support. I've played hundreds of ranked games this season too.

You legit bought 30 red sodas and went runic echoes on hecarim, buying tank items and tear on zilean, low wards and rushing to finish mobis on sona, terrible cs and random item buys on lucian, runic echoes ivern, triforce illoai.... literally doing everything wrong on every champ

Yes, but there's a big difference between the instalock Yasuo support who says "don't worry; i'll carry" (and doesn't) and someone who sticks to a small pool of champs, knows how to hug, knows the value of deaths, and doesn't chase.

Point here being, if I get mid (my worst role) I know I'm not going to be a hero. I call the MIAs, I focus farm and towers, and I roam when my opponent backs. Which puts me orders of magnitude above most bronze players who try a new champ every game.

I always choose Fill. I've one-tricked Shaco in past seasons, went through a "supp to advance" phase, and now I just want some damn variety. I'd love if there was an added incentive to fill. Personally, I think teammates are more valuable if they know how the other lanes work anyways.

I like to fill just cuz it gives the game even more variety. I get a chance to play a pretty wide variety of champions and Im mindful about the meta but I still play who I want. Its better than being a one trick imo

It would have to be double BE maybe once every 5 games, or you could just have a 1/10 chance of a low BE champion-shard if you play fill.

I've no issue with fill mains getting more BE. They're just going to buy champions. They need to buy champions.

Fair enough, then only incentivize it after 50 champs.

You can literally take your role hostage, say "Im doing this or feed". Then say sexist, racist things, then harass people. Riot won't do anything so long as you don't say a trigger word that flags you.

Actually I'm not even sure if you have to say it creatively anymore. I just had two players call me the N word, told me to suck their dicks, took my jungle, and someone elses top lane, and forced 3 people to witch around all because they wanted to field test a new strategy "Cause its flex".

100% certain that riot actually supports this instead of punishes it. I'm almost wanting to ask them via email if it's a typo and that these things are encouraged.

Really loved losing my promos cause I couldn't dodge this bull shit.

Actually, as a side note, I'd enjoy it if 'Fill' also gave button-options to leave out particular roles. I think it's a bit better now-a-days, but I'd still like the option of 'filling' EXCEPT for support, for instance.

Yeah, that scenario would actually dramatically reduce queue times because Fill isn't a go-to because people don't want one-role.

In the scenario you've presented there would be three options: Fill - 5 roles Selected Roles - 2 roles Fill except for - 4 roles

Why are we removing the ability of people to queue for more roles if we're going to keep autofill. Also, a majority saying "not ADC" would give Riot valuable customer feedback.
