Yeah, every fking time the enemy team gets veigar in silver nobody pushes you dont finish the game in 30 min, and then you get raped no matter how good the player was in the game. Items are almost irrelevant if you get a zhonya+rabadon

I sometime go veigar sup, for the lulz, i rush rabadon and can insta kill the adc even if he's 6-0

The cooldown is actually 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 seconds (10.8 - 8.4 with 40% cdr)

It doesn't matter. At this point you have to get shoved into his cage or be stupid enough to run into it to actually get stunned.

It was a problem before the MYMU where his stun was instant, it's so damn telegraphed it rivals Sion's Q now.

The cage does not really matter that much, is the zoning he can do and the fact he can isolate himself enough to be untouchable in a rush, which in turn makes him able to at least kill someone in a TF and gravely would another which always is a big advantage

Is he great early? No, he isn't, you can play around him, but you have to win around 30 min. And we are talking about silver where it never happens even if the team is fed because people simply dont push. And same with low gold. We are talking here about 80%+ of people playing, and if the game is not at least nigh balanced around them, then the game is an elitist shit

He has a 54% win rate in silver, that makes him a very strong champ despite his weakness, and that win rate is way higher for people that actually play him. I see a lot try him and fail for the first time because they seen how absurd was last game

You could end the game before he gets 1200 AP, which is VERY possible. Or just respect him as one of the few Hard Carry Mages and give him the focus he requires.

Easy to neglect Veigar's effectiveness because of short range & delays in his abilities & the fact he is immobile, I play Veigar from time to time.

C: not throwing your body at his wall (people like you love to do this for some reason)

You'll notice I did quite well in both games. Adapt to your opponent. Cleanse fucks Veigar hard (his only defense is his E, which is useless if you cleanse out of it and go full aggro on him). He really needs his Q stacks to 100-0 you with R, so bully him in lane and don't let him stack that easily. Bullying also denies him the ability to get Deathcap second (which amplifies the stacked AP to make him do loads of damage).

Of course, if you leave Veigar in a farm lane you're asking for trouble. If you're not playing mid and your mid laner is making it a farm lane, either roam yourself or ask the jungler to gank him. Burn flash to avoid the cage. Just make sure to keep him down.

Late game, get CC on him and burst him. As soon as his cage is on CD that's your window to go in.

Everytime he uses his Cage, I sigh and state I hate this ability. Became desensitized to it. Same with his ult outplaying me.

I think his thematic fits very well with his kit, but the actual design is a relic on the same ground as Nasus. Nasus needs his ~~attack speed root ~~slow, otherwise he loses a ton of power. Same with Veigar.

Veigar can stack, has a point click ult (which I firmly believe should go back to being half based on targets AP and not missing health or raw AP), and an AoE stun that has an amazing uptime and effect. But without that cage, he loses an incredible amount of power as well. It's more of a window on Veigar than Nasus to engage, but Veigar relies less on it in a 1v1 as time goes where Nasus needs his Wither for many enemies. Veigars affects an extended teamfight or even a quick one, in a vast way which is what makes it frustrating to play around or just toxic to engage due to its large impact on an increasingly teamfight or dogpiling deciding game.
