Seriously this game is ridiculous

Why the hell is there so much damage?

I just get instakilled by an ap malphite sup, nothing to do Instakilled by Kha with nothing to do Instakilled by Jax, pop jumps Instakilled by X and Y

What the hell Riot, how is this fun? Or is this game supposed to not be played by squishy champs? Not to talk about immobile champs that you wish to throw the PC out the window

I mean the counter play is for the respective laners to do very well against them, play smart, and respect them when they have kill pressure on you. It is all about map pressure and how your team plays it. This game is no longer a solo carry game from any lane on the map type of scenario

Teemo Gromp19 votes

The problem is when you have to "play smart" etc. when the enemy is so overbuffed and damage creepe'd, that they don't have to "play smart" in exchange and just mash buttons. The problem, me being an Ashe main, I am literally drowning in a flood of hyper-mobile characters and I, despite enjoying Ashe so much, feel often like neglected gameplay-wise..

shit i play ezreal and dont feel safe from the current roster of champions, shit is so dumb that soon as a jax or irelia connects to you though their insanely low cooldown gap closers you just flop, literally hada 1/3rd hp jax when i was full hp pop counterstrike flash leap stun me an 100-0 me in the duration of the stun while having a triforce and full tank items.

Arcane Blue Boi4 votes

Xerath stun is 11 seconds at max rank... in a world where evereybody has a 2 second dash.

SwiftCrane3 votes

Not to mention if you use it at closer range (as is often the case when someone's diving you) it's a much smaller stun time. And on top of all of this it doesn't stop people mid dash so if you hit them while they're dashing the stun time actually ticks down while they're moving.

The whole range determines stun time is a great mechanic but mobility is so overloaded now that it feels so garbage to use. T.T

Arcane Blue Boi3 votes

0.5 second stun every 7 seconds assuming you have 40% cdr And thats if the enemies dont have mercs with mercs the stun is roughly 0.35 seconds sad

Nausicäa 4 votes

Pretty much this.

Playing an immobile champion the burden of 'playing smart' is entirely on you. Meanwhile people playing some of these broken champions can get away with just mashing their keyboard and winning lane.

Take Irelia vs an immobile mage. She can play like a total idiot for 99% of the laning phase dashing in missing stuns w/e and get away with it. She hits 6 lands ult and you're 100-0ed instantly. Fun.

Thot Patrol Ashe1 votes

Yeah i play ashe alot too. I like building crit because its more fun but more often than not i have to go the old bork cleaver ruaans and ga build just to not get one shot by a zed or kha every 2 minutes.imo the real problem rn is kaisa she needs a nurf badly

Nausicäa 2 votes

Uh no because thats not what counterplay is.

Counterplay as defined by Riot themselves is having some meaningful way to react to what another champion is doing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DePjQJaZpqg

Saying 'play smart' isnt counterplay. Counterplay as a whole doesnt even exist in this game anymore because damage is so high.

NaturesMayhem1 votes

It is a solo carry game if you play it right, more so than it was in past seasons. Champions can get so ridiculously out of control and so fed that they will kill you instantly without breaking a sweat. Usually feeding a good LB or some AP assassin can end a game as they will continuously feed kills off of you as there is little that can be expected of you. This comes into play with what you said, every lane can do this though, and that's why it doesn't feel like a solo carry game anymore. Because now it's expected the enemy will have someone fed as well, so each team will have their own buffed up carries and their useless champions, or it will be a onesided slaughter than ends in 20 mins.

also the fact that they keep adding new champs and reworking the old ones, there is no way for casual players to keep track of all this stuff... just look at ekko's passive... im not here to read a whole damn book...

DuskDaUmbreon30 votes

If you think Ekko's passive is long you really need a different game.

Is it really too hard to understand that it's a three-hit passive that deals damage and gives ms?

DongerStruck8 votes

IT was an exemple.. calm down dude, i dont realy mind ekko at all...

rtbf22561824120 votes

Then take someone like Jhin as an example. His passive is actually pretty long to understand how he deals damage with it.

Thefrostyviking2 votes

As long as you dont bother with the specific numbers then Jhin´s passive is pretty easy to understand too.

Sure its not Nasus with lifesteal that gets a bit bigger as the game goes, but not really difficult at all either.

Leetri1 votes

Jhin can shoot 4 shots before he has to reload. His 4th shot always crits, and all his crits deal less damage but give him an MS boost. He can't attack faster and he converts attack speed and crit into AD. You could probably shorten that somehow.

rtbf2256182415 votes

Jhin shoots 4 shots before reloading. The 4th shot always crits, giving him movement speed. His crits scale with AS and AD together with his pre-locked Attack Speed.

That's about as short as i can make it but even if you cram numbers between them as actual tooltips have, then it becomes pretty damn long with all the scalings and calculations you have to account for.

I blame this on new runes really. And probably other reworked or new champions. I main Vel'Koz, an immobile champion, but due to how many flashy bs champions there are, i feel like Vel'Koz is useless in game. Seriously, i lost games due to what's more broken than the other, and not who has greater skill.

And i wonder why i became toxic. It's because stupid stuff like this! I mean, how is this fun? How is this even fair or even healthy for the game? [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Riot cares more about creating high-energy streams and playbacks than they do balanced and fair gameplay.

Think about it. Everything people complain about in the game is ONLY a negative to the people actually playing it. The couch potatoes watching streams are cheering for "the sick play" every time some over-tuned unbalanced assassin-tank leaps out of nowhere and explodes someone before they have a fair chance to react.

Tournament tickets. Sponsored pro teams. Endorsed streams. THOSE are what Riot builds the game for. They build it for VIEWERS, not players.

Everything you hate, everything that frustrates you, everything that makes you want to tear your hair out about this game? All exists so Riot can milk the couch potatoes viewing from the sidelines. And they don't care at all about the people actually PLAYING through their bad decisions.

Exactly , but they are stupid. Less and less people will play the game as it become more unfun with each patch. That will bring a decrease in those couch potatoes too. Starcraft 2 failed due to this. Now it is nowhere.

Just like how they made games shorter because viewers complained games took too long, and how they made the jungle changes to force junglers to kill each other over scuttle crabs or instalose.

Nerfing high skill cap champs purely because they are permapick at pro level and seeing them everygame is "boring". Tower botlane loses fortification. Why? because lane swap meta is boring to watch.

This game has been going down the shitter because Riot is catering to Esports over the actual player base.

My problem is not so much with the one-shot instakilled AP Malhite tbh

It's that HE's ALSO TANKY!

This bullshit happens very often in ARAM and it's quite frustrating.

I just died yesterday by a Zed that happens to miss something and then I died from the electrocute in the end. It was so fast that I just sat there petrified until like 5 seconds later I took a nap from my drink. I apparently do not even question this nonsense anymore..

Quort10 votes

I played a game recently where the enemy Zed used his ultimate on my ally Xerath while I was playing Leona.

Zed landed his E and I blocked most of the damage from his Q using Locket’s active. Zed was wary of my approach, so he backed off before even autoattacking.

After this onslaught, Xerath had approximately 1,500 of his 2,000-ish HP remaining and we both thought he was safe.

A moment later, Zed’s Death Mark activated, which activated Electrocute, and Xerath died.

I was completely flabbergasted. Zed was fed during the game, but it was late-game at this point and Xerath wasn’t too far behind by then. Still, Zed 100-0d Xerath with just REQ even after I blocked most of the damage from his Q. That’s ridiculous!

LazyW0lf5 votes

The damage Death Mark does is:

100% AD (+25/40/55%) of pre-mitigation damage

so shielding any damage that is not the actual pop is useless since it still adds to the total pop damage. Doing ~1,500 damage seems totally understandable if he landed everything.

It's completely dumb imo, but that's Zed for you.

Tomoe Gozen1 votes

pre-mitigation damage

Isn't this a big BS clutch for an oppressive champ like him? This makes Barrier a half-useless SS.

Hell, Kayle's ult is literally the only defense against him since her invincibility barrier reduces damage taken to 0 and Zed's Death Mark would only do its base damage.

LazyW0lf1 votes

The reason he has it in his kit is so you can't double-dip into the effects of armor. If it wasn't there, you would be reducing the combo damage, which is reducing the pop damage, then also reduce the pop damage.

It makes sense from a gameplay perspective as to why this was implemented, but by doing so it also feels really bad to buy armor against him. There should be a mechanic in place where shields will still block the damage no matter what, similar to how shields interact with backing.

Tomoe Gozen1 votes

Armor is a natural defense against stacking AD. And so is HP (general tanky stat). Zed already does a crapton of damage with Duskblade and Electrocute and his combo alone is really enough to chunk through tanks, then the "pre-mitigated" pop still happens to his total damage dealt + base (ratio depending on his ult level).

Zed should be a squishy popper, not every champ popper. Kayle's ult is the only absolute shield ability that reduces his damage dealt to 0 while regular shields don't do that, which means Zed can still go through it like butter but it still counts for his ult as he did HP damage, even though that was like 500 shield HP first. Yea, disabling his ult's "pre-mitigation" mechanic for shield HP would be a start in the right direction.

Your APC only had 3 items and none of them were zonyas, if you take that to a fed full build zed then zed doesn’t even need to hit his full combo to kill. A W-E-R into duskblade and electrocute would easily do it.

Also taking a look at your build you don’t have a knights vow. Would’ve really helped if you were trying to protect your Apc.

Z3Sleeper4 votes

Taking damage through shields still counts as Zed dealing damage which amplifies the death mark damage.

Only surefire ways to avoid death is to Zhonya the mark and avoid the shurikens.

If you don't have Zhonya but you avoided the shurikens, just pray that his AA + E alone isn't enough to kill you... which it usually is.

I've seen him just auto people during ult and eleectrocute + ult is enough. An AD caster missing all abilities still gets the kill smdh...

Theres probably so much damage because pro play was slow at some point and it has lost a lot viewership so they probably figured they would buff the fuck out of damage and make this game total shit for 99.999% of players who arent pros.

Too bad they are too stupid to realize that if people hate playing the game because its frustrating to play they probably wont be watch LCS anyway.
