Bard a little under-whelming?

I have been playing Bard since he came out, and have also had Bard on my team in a number of games. So far I think the champ has a lot of utility, however it is all extremely situational. He doesn't bring any damage to a team fight. He has the ability to stun 2 characters with a skillshot for a short amount of time. He can Zhonya a group of characters, or targets, which is again.....very situational. His wormhole again can initiate a fight, or help get out of one....but still, it takes a lot of co-ordination to get it working properly.

I also find the bonus you get from collecting meeps really outweighs the amount of time you are without your ADC. All in all, I can see Bard possibly be doing good in an organized team, but in soloqueue he is a liability. I'd much rather have a Thresh, Leona, Blitz, or any other traditional support that also has a lot of utility, but can also bring easy stuns, and damage to the team. As it stands I'd rather not play with a Bard on my team for the above reasons. Many times now I've been killed due to his ult, with him figuring I couldn't get away from my enemy "Yea... I had flash..." ok my bad :(. When I go for a tower dive to actually destroy the tower, and it instead get's ulted..... well damn, now the enemy jumps on me, knowing his turret will be available to help in 2 seconds since I can't finish it off now.

Im interested in what everyone else thinks of Bard so far?

To me it is kalista all over again.

People just do not understand him yet. His utility is strong as you said, but teams are not used to it yet. The zhonyas move is powerful, but most bards fail with it miserably. Give it a few weeks. I think the double stun is borderline op though.

I feel that Bard was made specifically for the LCS to be honest. Think about it. All of the supports that they currently pick are roaming playmakers (Thresh, Janna, Leona) and they generally don't stay in lane that often so their ADC can farm and gain xp. His utility is very flashy so the pros (and riot balance system haha) will be head-over-heels for him.

Seriously, don't ask for any kind of buffs yet. Wait a month. This sort of thing happened with Yasuo and Kalista both, and they both then had to be scaled back terribly. I'm positive that Bard is already where he's intended to be, so please don't ask for buffs until we're absolutely sure that he can't do anything.
