I just never understood the difficulty in dropping your trinket ward while you're roaming around. Trying to somewhere and gank? Ward your escape path on your way in. Use the trinket on cool down and you'll save yourself plenty of grief.
What gets me the most is later on in the game, when you're at that everything is on fire stage, pushed to your base - enemy team has your jungle ( because no one warded it and one person can only have 3 out at a time ) - and someone brilliant speaks up, "(SUPPORT) why isn't Baron warded?" Because I'm going to casually stroll on over and ward it while they have our jungle. Last I checked they had a time limit. And they're the same people who lose their minds when you do go to ward it and die, something about, "stop getting caught out." You JUST complained about it being un-warded.
Rarely there's a team member who gets it, and will go with me as support to ward in dangerous territory. I don't get where this whole blaming support thing comes into play. They are literally there just to support your team - to help you - and it's 1v4. So drop your trinket on CD. Ward your escape paths or if you counter jungle. Never back if it's off CD. Drop it. Anywhere but under your own tower/in your own base will do. By the time you recall, heal/buy + walk back to wherever it is you wanted to go, it should be close to being off CD again.
And the teams that seem to do the best with river control are the teams who don't leave one person to solo scuttles. They just take a while to kill early on - help your team out. Make an effort to kill it on respawn. It doesn't take a lot of time with 2 people and you can give the gold to whomever is a little behind for time spent. It helps out a lot.
