It Is Way too Easy to Deal Near-True Damage to Anything That Isnt A Tank, PLEASE Ship Some Mr

Professor Ward··7 votes·470 views

item 3151 item 3020 is all it takes, especially on champs with terrible scaling that used to rely heavily on pen.Zyra as a huge example

Again this is a glaring flaw, stats had to show how important 12 mr was to previous rune pages, it was taken almost across the board, non dependent of role, i dont see how this was missed. I was looking, thinking maybe it would be thrown into a bonus for running two tanky trees, but nope, here we are.

Any info on this at all?

If anything ship more armor or reduce physical damage, full AD teams are perfectly viable at this point except maybe vs like Rammus and you get melted even with item 3191 item 3047 while one MR item makes you immune to mid laners item 3155 until late game xd

riot has pretty good reasons for not putting armor on ap items item 3157 being the only optimal choice.

We dont want burst mages with high armor, this will completely kill most ad roles as there will be no "squishys"

Well they gotta do something because pretty much every team at this point is ~3-4 heavy AD champs + support + maybe a utility mage mid so you arent full AD, which wouldnt be a big problem either lul.

I still dont get why basically every AD champ got like 10-40 bonus base damages in preseason when most AP champs were already weaker xd

meanwhile mid lane, ad laners are shredding everything in sight

I found armor item pretty lacking for Mages. I dont find MR much of a problem as there is A LOT of MR item for all roles.

Armor is designed to be hard to come by for mages, zhonyas being the only optimal option, armor tank mages are extremely gamebreaking

Squishy mages have to buy into things like item 3102 item 3222early, which can and usually does severely gimp them, especially when the enemy doesnt have to answer.

Also armor per level is gained on every champion in the game, where as ranged champions DO NOT get magic resist per level, this is huge at lvl 18

Do you know why we get more ARMOR than MR in general?

item 3020 + item 3136 are ridiculous in the early game. Still super good mid-late too against squishies

I agree though these have always been basically this strong, people were just forced to run mr glyphs to compensate, causing a weird "self-balance". Now the option isnt even there at all, and these items are taking off.

Yeah and then there are mages with sub 20 base armor that just get obliterated

13mr? I had scaling mr and scaling armor. I lost a shit-ton of resists from the changes.

well the most common glyph setup was 13 mr, which is why i posted that.

I also used to lean towards scaling runes.

I even had a page with scaling, and flat mr quints, with flat mr reds. That option is goooone. Everything is so squish now.

13 MR? How the fuck did you get 13? Flat Runes were +1.34, do the math on that x9 and you don't end up with 13.

It's not like there's a busted anti AP rune in a damage based tree at all you could be running, is it?

Right now mages are in an abysmal place. AD mids are dominating. The last thing we need are more options for the ADs to overwhelm APs, if anything we need more Armour for mages.

well something people arent noticing obviously as every reference here is to mid lane, 2 classes of mages also frequent botlane and its getting extremely funky down there without mr options.

Giving ADCs extra MR also hurts mage mids.

Besides, the strongest supports right now aren't damage based mages anyway. The top supports are tanks like Leona and utility based supports. In fact, the mage you cite, Zyra is abysmal right now. She has a non-existent playrate and a sub 50% winrate.

If were talking winrates

the top mids arent ad, at all, like not even close, the top ad mid right now is jayce... lel.... and hes not even top 20 winrates mid, zed doesnt even break top 25..... not sure how they are "dominating"

Goes both ways.
