to be fair, only some of them are troll games. half of them are 4v5's and then a couple where every other lane just gets destroyed.

Well,it's pretty obvious what happened. 1st the stars were in the proper alignment. After that,you sacrificed at least 10 Teemos to the Rito Gods. Then you found 5 Four-Leaf clovers on the way home from work. Afterwards,you traveled to the Temple of Fortune & performed the sacred Lucky Dance. dang man. I know a good supp can turn the tides of a match an' all, but I just can't stand playing supp. It just feels so unrewarding/unsatisfying. Not to mention you are constantly dependent on your team actually being competent enough to secure the kills you set up.

I'm just not strong enough to put my faith in 4 random ppl to give me a win like that. (tho I guess the same could be said when I go top lane. :/ can farm up top all day, and have bot and mid feed hard)

When you win an Insane amount of games in a row your, MMR, spikes quite a bit. Making it more difficult and difficult and difficult. Resulting in loss streaks.

im just not seeing it yet though i know it should be coming soon im at 13 wins in a row and already vsing all golds(im silver 5)

We're not asking the probability of the 10 heads only that the 11th will be tails which is completely independent.

If you win 10 ranked games in a row, doesn't that increase your mmr and change the probability of getting paired against more difficult opponents?

In other words, how does the gambler's fallacy apply in an elo rating system?

Yes it increases your mmr which typically means tougher opponents. However, unless there are more trolls at the mmr you have risen to, it does not increase the chance of getting a troll on your team. If we were looking at only win loss ratio then maybe you would have an increased chance of losing.

In reality, there are too many random factors to say that the chance for the 11th will be tails is completely independent. That why "Gambler's Fallacy" exist in the real world, but not in an entirely random environment.

Yeah good point. I guess I didn't consider that confidence you'd get for winning 10 in row while the other players might be tilting, and the small increase in mmr from winning. It's not completely random at this stage.

yeah got today win and then got to my plat 5 promo,SURPRISE BUTTSECKS 5 losses in a row and lost promo,got to 56 lp from 100 and had an afk without loss prevented.

if you win like 10 or 7 games in a row the chance of winning the next is like 8% , thats just how riot wants it to go i always get matched with good people and win then i keep losing till i get demoted, the concept is just stupid

Not playing ranked but whenever i'm on an ARAM win-streak i get the worst people afterwards that are toxic, afk, build super troll or feed 24 7 for the next couple of games so that the system evens out. There is no way in elo-hell that this is happening without intention ;)

Happened to me a few weeks ago, exactly 10 wins in a row, in my promotion series games, The ADC decides to troll because his Support was not keeping him alive in team fights, In the other game it was a 4v5...
