Any plans on dorans shield buffs?

I think it should give a bonus reduction to ranged autos.

Agreed, if i start with it, I know im saying 'ive lost this lane already'. It just doesnt give the sustain that cloth and 4 pots does vs AD poke, but vs AP poke , you know you're getting poked out of lane, with only 1 pot, whilst a ring user gets 2.

Admitedly a dorans blade only gives you one pot, but it gives damage, and as much, if not more, sustain than shield, if you're intending to push the lane. At the end of last season ranged poke was dominant top. The only reason it isn't now is the new (OP and soon to be nerfed) colossus mastery. When we return to ranged poke dominance, any top laner without a gapcloser and hard cc tends to autolose to ranged poke. If dorans shield just cost 400 (as ring does), that would at least let you start 2 pots, and get a bit of CS whilest they shred you down.

A bonus against ranged auto's, as mentioned, might also work. Something to at least ameliorate the mess that is ranged/melee lane balance.

Dorans shield really shouldn't be that great of an item imo and in ritos opinion.

. Idk if anyone was around or remembers, but whenever dorans shield is actually good and worth picking, it turns any lane that can buy it into the top lane of today. Dorans shield is just a very unhealthy item for the game.

When both top laners are buying it, they both turn into unmovable objects. Trading becomes impossible. You trade and they take like nothing and regen it fast and you think "well fuck that shit."

If they were to buff it i feel they would have to be very careful with it so things aren't like they were when it was good.

They also want to have faster paced/more "action packed" games and dorans shield is a direct contradiction to that philosophy

Zero reasons Ap starter items give two pots and AD gives one.

Dark seal gives increased regeneration from pots and it's so cheap you have more options. It also builds into another item if you snowball.

Doran shield should atleast match the price and increased healing from pots.

The old Doran shield gave armor...that's why it changed top lane dynamics. The regeneration on it was always shite, so don't pretend it was some GAREN passive.

I agree. Ranged attack against melees is way too strong right now in top lane and something should change.
