Why is it...

When I get someone on my team with a plat, diamond or better border (one time someone had a master border)... I expect them to feed harder than my brother's super bronze friends -- and they often do?

Like, I just accept the loss when I see the loading screens and see the borders.

Look at the Cho that was executed a couple times and generally couldn't do anything all game for lack of ability. Yet, he's plat? I've played with diamonds that do just as poorly, yet they somehow still hit diamond. And don't even get me started on the MASTER I played with who fed out of his ass.

People tell me it's my fault that I'm stuck where I am... yet the vast majority of the higher ELO people I play with / against are garbage -- even my BRONZE friends play better than them. Hell, my first ranked game ever, I stomped a plat Azir main with 3k games on Azir as fucking Nidalee.

I just don't get it.

He's not Plat -- he WAS Plat which is quite a big difference. It could mean that someone got him there and that his skills aren't actually up to par. If you're getting high ranked players at your Silver ELO it means that they are in the process of getting demoted; so it makes sense that they would not perform well.

On another note - I would avoid publicizing the fact that your brother played on your account... for obvious reasons.

Even if someone isn't currently, but was, a higher ELO, I would expect them to at least be competent in silver / bronze ELO.

... and it's really kind of sad that Riot acts that way. They'd rather I go AFK instead of having my brother who walked in the door sit down and play for all of a few minutes while I'm being forced to go run errands. When did gaming become a religion or something, instead of something to be played for fun?

I believe part of it is the players who bought accounts. Ya never know these days if your teammate with a border is actually a high level player or someone who bought their account/used a boosting service. I believe another part is memory bias. It is a lot more likely someone will remember the plat bordered feeder than the plat bordered player who played normally or even carried

Except it's 99/100 plat+ borders I see. I just expect them to at this point. It's a surprise when they don't.

And I wouldn't be surprised if they were all boosted, honestly.
