The main reason why this game is such a shitfest

Now if you have been a forum reader for the past few months, you would have been seeing all these kinds of posts, especially lately:

  • Game is not fun anymore.

  • Too much burst damage.

  • Dying in less than a second.

  • There isn't any strategy to the game, just who can kill faster.

  • Rune struggles- only one is good for my champ and anything else is trolling.

  • Rune balancing has been horrible (Example- Dark Harvest, Bone Plating, etc).

  • Game has way less defensive stats then the old system.

  • Insert other rant topic here.

These complaints, all comes down to ONE THING....

**Runes Reforged. **

So on that topic, this game was never this way until this horribly designed system was put in place, on top of the removal of defensive runes, masteries, and actual defensive stats from the actual champions. This is why the game is such a snowball shitfest with no time to outplay because you're dead in 0.03 seconds because you missed dodging a skillshot, etc. Everything comes down to this system that should have never been put in in the first place.

Now, before you get your panties in a bunch about "oh they were compensated blah blah blah", listen to me here-

NO, THEY WERE NOT.

In the old system, you had the option to pick like for example, the most optimal page, just a rune page that had 9 armor and 12 MR (if I have that wrong, correct me cause it's been awhile). But you could also add health in there as well. If you went against a harder match up, you could load up that rune page with just one defensive stat (not as optimal, I never did that) or just put more in there than normal and take less of the other stats.

But in that "compensation" aspect, they only gave champions ONE defensive stat back, and it wasn't that much to begin with. Some got health, some got armor, some got MR, some got mana (supports if I recall). And if you want more than that, you have to go into the horribly made resolve tree that doesn't give many options to begin with.

With the old system, you had the option to choose how you wanted to create your matchup and you had so much more options to take. And that was just runes. Masteries as well- you could take a 12-0-18 page or an all 0-0-30 or any type of combination to **suit your own defensive customization. **

Now? You only get a select SIX "runes", which are just revamped masteries, to choose from. You can't choose as much armor or health or MR as you want- you only get a select amount, and if you opt into the defensive tree, you are putting yourself massively behind your enemy laner that went all damage and just barrels through anything you take.

Sure, they added "rune shards." But you can only choose one of each, and it's a very dinky small amount compared to what we got before.

What do you want? Even MORE adaptive damage or just a tiny 10 armor? Or MR? And don't get me started on the abysmal scaling health stat.

So, here is my struggle. Everyone has been upvoting these types of posts into oblivion but when I call Riot out on the boards, or Twitter, to just revert Runes Reforged, people downvote me. And I don't get it- all these complaints can be resolved by just reverting this system.

You know that Riot doesn't balance well. You know that they won't get this system to even become half as good as the old.

So here's my point- raise your voice. Bring up the topic of reverting this to Riot's attention. We need more people to speak up, because it won't happen unless we do. Just like Dynamic Que, it can also happen with Runes Reforged.

Riot, I'm asking you now. Revert Runes Reforged, please, before this game goes even further down the black hole you have already created.

They should go back to the old runes :(
