Does it make sense to climb by a different metric than wins?

So, I've been on GD a bit, and I expect to get downvoted into absolute oblivion, but I'm posting this because I think with some decent formulas and enough "Big Data", we could remove some of the problems we currently have in LoL.

> Proposed Change > > To advance through your promo, you need to complete 10 games with 6 games being won. You must complete 2 of your 10 games in each role, and you have to play 3 different champions at least once over the 10 matches.

In an effort to reduce the potential negative impact this could have on the current ranked ladders, I'm making these two caveats:

  1. This system should be implemented in a third ladder. (The first being Ranked and Flex).

  2. This ladder will be an exact duplicate as Ranked, save for Promos

Why?

The biggest problem I see is that there's no incentive to learn multiple roles if you want to climb. It's more successful to learn 3 champions in one role and dodge games in which you need to play something else (and eating your auto-fill game). I'm suggesting this change because I think it's a truer test of skill than the current offerings.

Not playing multiple roles isn't really a problem imo. Even then, it is a problem without a solution. Playing a few roles and dodging will always just be better. Even then, with what you suggested, I'd still just play 2 roles to get 100 LP. Then someone just playing multiple roles in promos, is worse for everyone since it's basically more autofill. Or I'd ask to trade or just trade if I'm duo.

It is literally just pro players that play everything (even that to an extent) lol. Everyone else who wants to climb doesn't play more than 1-3 roles. It was like this before you could even select your roles. You still had your main roles and support if you didnt get them lol.

Nobody would play this ladder or take it serious, like nobody takes flex serious. The queue times and matchmaking for flex later at night in Diamond+ are horrendous.

With respect, this is a classic GD move. "later at night in Diamond+"

How many players can that be? Honestly?

What is gd

and

solo queue is fine, matchmaking and wait times, while flex is terrible.

I find not being able to play multiple roles or champs to much more prevalent at higher elos, since it is alot more likely that you'll have several on your team.
