So I played against an Irelia who bought only Triforce as offensive item

DropFill··4 votes·1,602 views

Did the third highest damage in the game , zoning both me ( TF ) and my ADC on teamfights, melting us both while we couldn't kill her since she can be CC'ed with tenacity boots, her passive and elixir of iron. Only got outdamage by me and her team adc. Nice champion riot, nice champion. ( Not even talking about that stupid spammable point and click stun.

Irelia only bought a Triforce and then went tank?

What madness is this, the proper way to build Irelia is to have 5 damage items and boots. However this tactic of hers intrigues me!

I shall test it, perhaps it will revolutionize the way Irelia is played!

I thought you were supposed to get item 3172 instead of boots.

One offensive item is fantastic when you're against people who don't build enough defense. It lets you itemize toward being unkillable since you don't have to get past anyone's defenses.

Just because you're a carry doesn't mean you can't get defensive items if you're being focused down.

Your squishy, your job is to deal enough dmg before you die. Get it? You're supposed to die, and if you die after you've dealt significant dmg, great. If you didn't, well, you got outplayed somewhere.

Not even talking about that stupid spammable point and click stun.

That requires her to already be losing the fight to use (since she has to have lower % HP than the person she's stunning, or else it's a slow)

bruisers tend to have more hp than adcs and mages so they can still have more hp than yo while having a lower % hp

Requires the person to have the same amount of health as her. Also, since it is % and not flat, squishy targets suffer against her first E.

Irelia is supposed to shine during the later phases of the game, and she's more level-dependent than item-dependent, so of course she's going to outdamage you with a few offensive items.

Tips:

  1. Don't leave her alone to free farm

  2. If you are a squishy, STAY AWAY and let your tanks/peelers help you out in taking her down.

She actually shines mid game where the OP probably fed her and then she outshined later stages in the game. Don't feed Irelia.

Didn't fed her, since I was mid, and she was top. She wasn't fed at all but got mid-late game

Honestly, why is everyone complaining about Irelia. Her stun is conditional, her Q has long cooldown unless reset or unless she maxes it early, she's weak before lvl 5.....Her ult is a skillshot. C'mon people leave Irelia alone

Because they recently lost to one and don't realize that most of her matchups are skill-based.

Someone complained that an Irelia killed them (a squishy). Better nerf her.

A melee champion with only ONE OFFENSIVE item.

If you have no defensive items, one offensive item is all it takes to kill you. If you want other examples, look at Trundle and Shyvana with Blade of the Ruined King, Mundo with Wit's End, Poppy with Trinity Force, or Darius with Ravenous Hydra.

Since you appear to be posting from a smurf (no games played since June 20, 2014), no one can really look at how either team built or the match progressed. If you want actual opinions, it might be better to supply that information. If you just want to complain instead of receive constructive criticism, posting from a smurf and hiding the match details is a viable option.

Okay. Sorry if I was a bit rude earlier, but I've run into a lot of people raging on smurf accounts lately and unfairly assumed you were one of them. My bad.

I think the main issue that game was one of team composition. Your team seemed like it would focus on mid game picks from Lee Sin, Kha'zix, and Twisted Fate to allow you to pressure objectives. In comparison, the enemy team had good teamfighting (Nautilus, Lissandra, Thresh) and diving. Considering how durable the enemy team was, you would have difficulty killing their frontline (Thresh, Irelia, Nautilus). Your team had Janna to disengage and protect Caitlyn, but Lee Sin and Kha'zix would want to dive the enemy backline, so your focus is split.

Irelia's only really job in that game was to dive your teams backline (Caitlyn, TF, Janna) and distract them while their team killed Lee Sin and Kha'zix. Your backline didn't really have any defense against her damage, so her base damage and Sheen procs were sufficient to kill them due to their low armor and health.
