I just hit silver 4, im just wondering f we have to do placement matches again when the season starts i think it starts tuesday?
Hows the beginning of the season work, ive heard the term soft reset/hard reset,

Deep Terror Nami1 votesA hard reset means you lose all your MMR and go back to a fresh slate, beginning with like low-Silver MMR.
A soft reset simply edges your MMR towards that average instead.
We will be getting a soft reset, and this will happen on the 20th. You'll become unranked and need to do 10 placement matches, and will be placed according to your new MMR (which is generally lower than where your old rank was, but it's possible to be higher).

Brockinroll1 votesSeason starts everyone becomes unranked, you'll have 10 placement matches to help decide where you get placed, This is not the only thing taken into account for this, pre-season does count a bit. You will also be placed a little below where you last finished. Hence the term soft reset.
God Fist Sett1 votesFor the first couple of weeks though xD i wouldn't play ranked after the reset because most likely you'll get put up against a mixture of elos, or so that's what a lot of people have told me
