Riot can we talk about your recent mage balancing and why its a bad approach.

Two mages you nerfed, Syndra and Azir have both plummeted in winrates, from reasonable 47-50% to 41% or below as a result of changes made in recent patches. I dont think its unfair to say many of your recent balance changes have been heavy-handed or completely unnecessary. http://www.lolking.net/champions/azir&region=all&map=sr&queue=1x1&league=ranked#statistics http://www.lolking.net/champions/syndra&region=all&map=sr&queue=1x1#statistics

Why did you even make these changes?

Was either champion such a high priority pick in competitive that they needed these nerfs? Nope, in fact both champions were trending downwards in terms of pick rates and ban rates in competitive.

Was either champion dominating games or pushing out other mid lanes out of their sheer strength? Nope.

Are you even testing these changes before releasing them?

The funny thing is that i could tell just by reading the changes and without even testing them in game that you would ruin both champions. The question is why cant the people making or testing these changes come to the same conclusion?

Did you not notice that Syndra's E stun was passing directly through people and not stunning? Because pretty much anyone who plays Syndra did after a single game.

If you're not testing these changes, you should start doing so. If you are, you need better testers because the one you have clearly arent doing very well.

The Pre season mana regen nerfs

You massively nerfed early- mid game mana regen across the board leaving spammy/ high mana cost mages in a terrible position where they OOM in basically one combo.

According to your patch notes you made these mana regen nerfs so that you could individually tune the mana regen rates of mages. Well last time i checked every mage in the game still has the same normalized mana regen you added in pre season.

Where is the individual tuning you suggested you would add? Where is the compensation for high mana cost champions that basically need 2 mana regen items now to be useful?

TLDR - Please stop with the unnecessary and heavy handed nerfs. Waiting 5+ months for you to fix champions that you mistakenly massively overnerf is simply unacceptable. We need more champion diversity, not to have champion diversity lowered each patch by trash tiering a new champion.

They've left so many mages as cripples is ridiculous. It's like they've had some crazy vendetta against mages.

Lux : W-...why??

But them ADCs and assassins though, they got established playstyles.

Meanwhile immobile mages, carry junglers and top lane bruisers...

LOL!

I'm fine with heavy handed nerfs. Actually I get pretty annoyed by the allegedly a nerf nerfs that Riot likes to put on champions like Zed.

I'm not fine with heavy handed nerfs, followed by slow motion backpedaling. We knew Syndra 5.1 was broken about a day after release. Now we learn that she's going to get another E tweak in 5.4, but no changes to mana or damage. At this rate it'll be summer before she's playable again.

Ya basically this. It takes about 6 months for them to fix a champion after they nerf them into unviability

This is not a serious thread right?
