The game is such a coin flip, it's embarrassing.

I've lost 8 normal drafts in a row, while playing well or really well at least in 6-7 of them. Yeah yeah, they're normals, but the same shit happens in ranked. I've literally lost a coin flip of getting really bad teammates 8 times in a row. I mean, that's a really good game right. You can't carry shit solo anymore, since if your team is bad, the enemy will just look at you and kill you in 0.3 seconds.

On top of that. this renders playing the game meaningless... if I only win when I get a coin flip better teammates, what's the purpose of playing the game at all ?

I'm not seeing these "really good" performances you speak of. I see one game where you did decently, but that's about it.

You play pretty much a different champion every game, and while that's fine and all you can't expect greatness if you're not familiar with who you're playing. If you really want to win more games watch your replays and stop making excuses. There's nothing really wrong with losing games, the issue is when you try to place the blame for every loss on anyone but yourself. This is the whole "my team is holding me back" thing v2.0

DuskDaUmbreon3 votes

Yeah. That's the thing, people like to blame everything but themselves for their loss.

Matchmaking was a bit shit, then people latched onto that as the reason why they're losing. Just like they latched onto better bot before, or their jg not ganking, or lag, or broken champions.

Is there a problem with matchmaking? Probably. But 99% of the complaints about it aren't actual matchmaking issues, it's just people being pissy because they lost and wanting to blame anything but the actual reason they lost.

I started to soft-troll when I was on a good winning streak because I can't win anyways the next couple of games and before I try my best, I rather join my noob's level of shitness.

I have a Morgana OTP account, too, and I am on a losing streak with heavily negative W/L. My stats are insane, I get S- in a lost game (as Morgana support, go figure), on op.gg every 2-3rd game is "ACE". As, I repeat, support Morgana. I won one game where I carried so hard 1vs2 top (as...SUPPORT MORGANA because my noobs wanted to feed the heck out of bottom lane together apparently), got most gold (!!), solid S, helped my noobs with shields and CC. This game was a win, but a punishment because I carried a bunch o'trash. Because I won, the next game was equally ridiculous, but unsalvable. 2/17/2 Diana taht always said "cryyyyyy" when someone mentinoed her shit gameplay (so much about "Tell them newbies the game! Teach them!!!"), my Lee SIn picked Smite but went mid and ended 0/9/2 - same as my Zoe (however that is possible!). Nah, the 5/0/6 Morgana has to lose, again, with an ACE in op.gg. Got another mastery token though...

But still, if your trash noobs go 2/17/2, then it is clearly a missmatch, and everything eles than a "match". So "Match found" is a meme now, and, as said, I soft troll and soft int to lose on purpose so I can get real games afterwards. I am not there to carry more rigged games, I rather join my trashbobs by being trash and enjoy myself than the only one trying an dthen get reported for saying the truth to these fucknoobs.

ive learned to expect about a 5-7 game loss streak if im on any sort of winning streak since 2017. i genuinely am curious as to what the matchmaking system does. it feels like it switches from pairing me with more experienced players who know how to coordinate with the enemy being less experienced who just facetank 1v5 'bc im playing yasuo/zed/pyke,' to being on the inexperienced facetanking team

plenty of games where either my teammates are all high lvl and enemy is all low, or vice versa

How do you explain all the players that go from unranked to grandmasters or something in a few days?

Quikate2 votes

The worst thing is winning and losing permanently. Riot expects me to climb with 5 Lp every 2 matches. Not to mention the bulshittier promo matchmaking.

Jack Eron2 votes

When i'm playing as support on botlane, the game started 6 min ago, and while we are able to take one kill on our lane, top is already 0/4/0 and jungle is 0/3/0.

The game just started and it's already lost. This is not a rare game, it happens almost every day.

Xhaiden1 votes

That's to be expected. I mean, on normal draft (or all pick) - i've seen lost of games where bronze and silver get matched vs plats and diamond.

Leetri1 votes

That's because normal mmr =/= ranked mmr. They're entirely separate, so if you never play normals you can be Challenger in ranked but have Bronze 3 mmr in normals.

Yeap, thats why I quit playing the game. I quit playing ranked, then shortly quit playing the game. I like competitive scene but not when it's either a hard core win or a hard core lost. You can't carry a team anymore, thats true. The matchmaking is poorly made. If there is 1 thing that i can fix, it would be to make climbing based on your rating at the end of the game. Get X amount of points based on how well you did. I would say just a few points even if you lost, like maybe 5 or 4. That way it doesn't feel completely pointless to try your best and it ending up on a lost because your team went afk or your team rage quit or whatever.

I think this will force players to worry more about their own gameplay and in turn, improve general skill/gameplay of each player AND potentially reducing the amount of rage quitters.

Ahri Baka1 votes

True But what can we do to deny that? Nothing It's a 5v5 Team game despite match making being weird But it's really coin flip because you don't know if your teammate is tilted or not , if he is going to troll or not , if his ego controls him or not It is coin flip when my Plat 5 teammate is tilted and loses against a positive Gold 2 player who is on a win streak

But seriously , what can be done to avoid coin flips?

Cyrosi1 votes

I think it's easier to influence games negatively than people think. I'm trying to learn something besides support, so I have an abysmal win/loss percentage right now. I lose most games where I play characters I don't have much experience with, even if I end up with no deaths, I just don't contribute enough to help out the team on these new characters.

Play jungle or bot lane if you want to carry. There is no other way. Both top and mid lane are useless for carrying games unless you're a fed Zed/Akali.

DangerousOreo1 votes

Yeah, some games my Tryndamere top has 5 kills in 3mins and my botlane is 50 farm ahead and i just think that i could literally stay in the jungle, never come out, and go jerk off to my favourite tape come back and take my free lp, other games im 12/2 yet i cant carry playing my heart out, it makes me think, what the fuck is the point of playing this game, also i think part of it is kills snowball too hard rn.

This is entirely your fault. You're not really at your "peak" when you play different champions every single game. If you're talking about the really bad teammates, I think you're one of them. There's a reason why smurfs can carry low elo, because they're better than everyone in the match. Instead of complaining you should learn how to get out of flex gold with a positive winrate

never a coinflip it's how good YOU are, doesn't matter about other teammates i've carried a 3v5 before.

I experience this even in 3v3 normals, and because the playerbase is significantly smaller it's much easier to pick up on, as you eventually end up playing with the same people pretty often.

The only reliable way to deal with this is to spam meta champs and/or champs with overloaded, do-it-all kits. I don't do either of these, so I just deal with it and accept my general lack of control.

I would imagine things are significantly worse for SR, as the matchmaking system has much larger player pool to account for.

Summoner SpeII1 votes

it is champions like yuumi and pyke on the enemy team that make it almost impossible to carry solo games, i would recommend banning those champions out to stand a chance

I keep getting into games where lane opponents are apart by multiple tiers. It is becoming nearly unplayable because games are over so quickly. I am tired of hearing the "it's just norms" excuse. Riot continues to fail. Short queue times are not worth this.
