Can we actually get like a solid answer on matchmaking

There is literally no fucking way that my last 3 solo/duo games were fair matchmaking. Every.Single.One.Of.Those.Games.Had.Trolls. Like when i initially climbed and peaked p3. It was fine, like matchmaking seemed balanced in the sense that if the enemy was better, they were better and that was that. Like yes games were decided faster however it still often played into skill.

From silver 4 (i believe thats where i started) up until plat 3 i often didnt get trolls. In fact it seemed pretty much team vs team and not which team got fucked with an inter.

But recently (The past month or so~) It feels impossible to climb unless you and a duo are playing 2 full tiers ahead of where you are currently. Sucks dude. It really does. Sorry i dont abuse lucian and play like a challenger but at least i do well and consistently maintain most damage/most gold in my games in carry roles.

Ur starting to play around the forbidden D5 zone. That’s what Riot is trying to fix next season.

What answer do you want exactly? MMR makes matches as fair as they can be in the current meta. The current meta does not allow for balanced matches. The current meta is not going to change until after worlds.

Matchmaking puts teams at roughly the same MMR, with people on a hot streak or above 50% win rate having more "emphasis" for team MMR. A team could be Gold 5, gold 5, gold 3, gold 5, gold 1 vs a team of plat 5, gold 2, gold 2, gold, gold 1 as long as their team MMR is roughly the same.

Its an awful system that leads to climbing being more a matter of luck than skill.

Matchmaking doesn't look at win or loss rates at all. It simply grabs 10 players who are as close to the same mmr as it can. Queue times would vary much more than what we observe if matchmaking tried to get fancy and take into accounts mmr, win and loss streaks, and winrates. It has its flaws because there is no perfect system to match solo players on a 5v5 ladder but it is far and away the best system availiable.

What you are thinking of is in normals or flex queue when people with a wide range of mmr queue together. In that case, matchmaking is forced to pair players with a wider range of mmr together and it has to take the average mmr of 3 or 4 stacks who are queuing together.
