im pretty pissed she gets both and that they are both legendary. Riot could of had one hell of a VS event or something similar and milked money out of it.

They had 2 concepts they presented to Leona players, both were liked and since they share alot of animations, they just did both, since it didn't require too much additional work.

because lore wise.. the lunari are technically correct and the solari are in the wrong.

To be honest as big lore (even skin lines lore) lover I felt huge backstabbing when Diana mains cried for her Blood moon skin for so long to make Riot finally did it even when it was utter nonsense to the line's previous lore.

What a snub to not only Diana's skin selection but also her lore. Basically just throwing any hopes of a Solari/Lunari event and also letting the Solari one-up Diana with the Lunar Eclipse one. I could understand if it was just a solar eclipse Leona but for her to have both is just ridiculous. Especially when Diana's dated champ design/bug list is also ignored. Who cares if she just got a skin when other champions get multiple skins per year.

Yeah I think this is riot cutting corners in a lot of ways. They make a really solid leona skin, then instead of creating one for diana to compliment it, they make a recolor with some simplified effects and different lines. I'd expect this to take infinitely less time and resources, and they can still have two full-priced skins for people to choose from. I fully understand that if you buy one you can buy the other for 45% off, but this feels more like a middle-finger to diana players than anything else.

How many times have they give champions multiple skins, like Lux and Tristana. And look at Kayn, Kayn got a 1820 skin within a year of being released. It took Garen 9 years to get a 1820 skin lol. It's not about how recent Diana has gotten a skin, its just thematically wrong to give Leona 2 skins instead of just doing the obvious and giving Leona/Diana counterpart skins, and they could've made more money, made more people happy, and had another event like VS.

You are really complaining that an OG braindead champion didnt get a legendary skin until earlier this year? riot makes skins fro popular champions. no one plays garren long enough to get a skin for him, hes generic, and people drop him for champions they like better very quickly. God king garren is very sweet though.

You literally just proved my point that they make skins for popular champions, thus the original poster saying Diana isn't able to receive a skin because she just recently got one is irrelevant. Popularity is what makes champions get skins, so saying someone can't receive a skin because they got one earlier in the season is irrational. Also, are you telling me Garen isn't popular? Because Garen is in the top 25 of pick rate out of 137 champions. That's definitely quite popular, definitely not as popular as Kayn, but also popular enough to be deserving of a 1820 skin within 9 years as opposed to a new champion getting one within 1 year.

To be honest, I feel strongly desperate and unpleasant. I personally like the skins, and im happy as Leona player, but more frustrated then vice versa. Personally, I think the main problem isn't in the skins line but an overall treatment that Diana mains gets. As you can see, at the home reddit of Diana, there is megathred for rework & bug, overall confusion of community of Diana role, and Rito relationship with this champion (one thing that crosses my mind is the statement that Diana is completed champ, and that's all). I just feel like** A LITTLE** bit of light on overall Diana case would calm the whole main down (and that is something to say).

One more thing, I know there are a lot of "duo" champs in the league, but Leona and Diana have some special relationship that makes you feel they deserve the same treatment (or maybe its the Stockholm syndrome, of bullying Solari and we need to show a little bit of love from ya).

What probably happened was that they were testing both versions and were only going to release one, then call that one "(Solar) Eclipse", and they're only calling it "Lunar" to differentiate the two. They already said they weren't originally planning to release two versions.

Is it too much to ask to be a bit patient? Diana is in need of a full-scale update, gameplay and visually. Leona is not. It's not hard to think that Diana will get a skin like this when her rework comes along. They're building a big world with this Leona skin, and clearly are showing her interacting with Diana. I expect that once Diana is in a better place visually, she will get an Eclipse skin of some kind (or her own version of it) to fit into this world they are creating.

With that in mind, a bunch of designers are probably working on Diana as we speak, and with a large scale VU as well as GPU, it wouldn't make sense to release a legendary skin for her that will be changed completely once she's updated. Better to have a legendary skin not change much, right? Less people up in arms if they don't like the second result as opposed to the first.

I'd just say take a breather, because they clearly haven't left Diana out of interactions this time. It'll come.

Diana still got an identity crisis as the ''Assassin-Tanky-Bruiser-AP-Mid''... Make her an assassin and you get back her release state (LOL PLEASE NO). Make her like a bruiser and she won't be able to survive much since she doesn't have any sustain tools...

She was called Akali 2.0 (pre-rework) for a reason.

Current W and E : Bruiser Kit, but not enough to be a bruiser

Current Q and R : Assassin kit, but not enough damage to actually burst down someone.

Her VGU is complex and probably delayed because of the gameplay part : Now that old Akali is gone (she's not Akali 2.0 anymore, and ironically makes Diana much more unique), do they push her back into the assassin kit or more into the bruiser kit ?

She will probably be like Kayle and Morg. A VU with minor kit change for Leona and a full VGU for Diana. They will also probably wait for the Kayle/Morg feedback to see if Diana should be a standalone VGU or if they push Leona into it.

See it this way : If Diana didn'T receive that Legendary skin, it probably mean she's much higher on the VGU tier list than you think and that should be good news.

I expected nothing and im still let down, lunar eclipse leona shouldnt exsist as a skin but as a dark chroma version and diana should get lunar eclipse. This would be much better and would also sell more
