Picks and Checks: Diana

I am trying to try something new, so I am coming up with guides to how to specifically counter certain champions <3, I am hoping I can enlist some mains of certain champions to help me create other guides to their respective mains, as well as higher elo people who have better ways to beat up certain champs. Brief Description: Burst AP Diver **Counters to (mid): **Katarina Fizz Zed Yasuo Velkoz Akali Countered by (mid): Mordekaiser Lissandra Heimerdinger Syndra Malzahar Kennen Counters to (jungle):Fizz Rengar Khazix!Elise Vi Countered by (jungle):LeeSinShyvana MasterYi Udyr

! NEVER 1v1 Kha'Zix! Don't even try it! (unless your name is Elise)

Typical Rush Items: item 3001 item 3157 item 3115 item 3100 item 3165 (KR)

Checks: Squishy comps, Melee comps Checked by: Bruiser comps, Auto attack- reliant comps, early game comps

Strengths:

  • Near disgusting burst when ahead
  • Very good initiate
  • AoE pull
  • Fairly tanky for assassin
  • Ulti reset
  • AP (debatable) Weaknesses:
  • Melee in a primarily ranged lane
  • Weak early game
  • No mobility til 6
  • No escapes
  • Easily ganked
  • Not as tanky as other divers (XinZhao ,Irelia etc.)

In Lane:

Diana has a fairly weak laning phase prior to Level 6. Her Q is on a 10 second cooldown at rank 1 (which scales down to 6 as she levels up the ability), and the range is actually fairly short when compared to a lot of other skillshots. This skill is essential to land, in order for her to execute her burst combo. Because the skillshot can only curve from her right hand, you can use this for your advantage. Walk directly towards her and then to her left to dodge her Q. Just don't get so close that you get into melee range, where she can pull you, and then W + auto attack you. Harass her often so that she will be forced to use Pale Cascade (W) in a non aggressive manner, which also has a fairly high mana cost.

Post Level 6, she will finally have her gap closer on Lunar Rush which has a very short cooldown (25/20/15 seconds), and usually marks when she starts roaming and looking for more aggressive plays in lane. Make sure to dodge Crescent Strike as often as possible. Get MR items such as item 3174 item 3001 or item 3155 to ensure you survive when she lands a burst combo. Ping MIAs.

Top lane Diana, is the same concept, but you can outsustain her due to healing (Maokai Fiora ) and defensive passives (Galio,Malphite ) that are common on a lot of top laners, and negate her damage with items such as item 3211 . ** In the Jungle:**

Diana is unable to churn out ganks prior to Level 6, so what you ideally want to do is invade her Jungle at early levels so that she is behind and cannot get to pressuring lanes quick. Junglers such as LeeSin , Udyr , and RekSai are ideal to put off Diana's level 6 power spike, while other junglers such as Elise Evelynn can pressure lanes to set Diana's team as a whole behind. Be wary of Diana's good melee early game dueling (she still won't be outdueled by Tryndamere Trundle LeeSin and Volibear) , which also makes Quinn and Graves very decent at invading her early on. Diana has fairly healthy clears. Keep that in mind.

Teamfights: Diana's one goal in teamfights is this, dive backline, kill ADC or Midlaner, and cause as much collateral damage to front line. To help this, you want to hard cc her as fast as possible, stun, slow, root, etc. She can only perform well if she can gapclose onto a certain target. Treat her the same way you would deal with Vi. It's fairly easily to kill her as she absolutely hates sustained damage.

What did you think? Should I proceed with this, or should I not? What champion should I do next? Leave thoughts in the comments? Please?

waiting for board backlash of how this is utter garbage ;-; plz hv mercy.

Yasou is actually pretty ugly pre 6-11 (depends on how much you feed him), after this point he is basically a freekill Same goes for Lee Sin, if you survive the earlygame, he is pretty easy.

I just pull Yasuo in when he goes to harass me, and then W, and auto. You usually end up winning the trade unless SS was procced. Lee Sin is problematic because he can also simultaneously set your lanes behind while invading your jungle.

How did you like the guide? I'm looking for as much feedback as I can get.

The main problem against yasou is my mana, because he can do a short trade every few secounds but i can only trade back like 4-6 times.

I like your guide, but i think its hard to describe her teamfighting, because she can be played in many ways, in some games i go full assassin and kill thier backline, in some game i go a pretty tanky build to have a good amount of sustained damage and in some games i just wait until the enemy assassin wants to kill my adc and kill him before he can do any damage.
