Ezreal needs a new title
Should be renamed from "The Prodigal Explorer" to "Item Destroyer"
Spirit of the Elder Lizard, Runeglaive, and now Iceborn Gauntlet.

They belong in a museum
Hell, they are so old, they are too rare to be in a museum, put that shit on maximum security.

They belong in a museum
So do you!
Ezreal is the reason why we cant have nice sheen things :c
Not completely true, the reson we can't have nice sheen items is that riot's fixed on making every sheen upgrade work for both ranged AND melee. Every item that can work on both ranged and melee has to be in a state where it's weak for both of them since if it's good on melee, ranged will have the same benefits but can abuse theyr range, but if it's bad on melee, ranged can't use it since that means the item is just that bad or at least only ranged can use it since they are ranged and have an innate advantage. They should really start to make more Melee/Ranged only items since this would help with the game balance in a lot of ways since the items would be balanced only around either one OR the other, making so that if it's good on one class it's bad on the other, this way no champ would be extremely buffed/nerfed indirectly because somene else can abuse a core item. But yeah, as long as riot is fixed on making items that every champ can use Ezreal will always abuse them and the item will be nerfed untill it's only good on him making it ba on every other champ.
The reason why Ezreal breaks Sheen items specifically is his Q applying on-hit effects instead of spell effects AND being spammable. Most ADCs don't have a spam spell and therefore don't get that much out of Sheen; Ezreal does and can. Any Sheen effect just becomes a direct buff/modification to his Q.
To put it in perspective, think about what Evelyn or Urgot would be like if their Q's proc'ed on-hit effects. Just think about it.
Hmm. Now I wonder what would happen if Ez' Q was swapped to apply spell effects, but not on-hits.
Luden's would be nerfed next, probably...
ADC Ezreal would be trashed for good if they did that.
Well ez is not the only one who can easily spam a ranged skill, it might be weaker than his q, but every ranged champion with a remotely spammable skill can break a sheen. That said, if Iceborn was melee only ezreal wouldn't be able to break it, and that's what I mean. Also Iceborn is not the only item which is in a bad and undesirable state because a ranged champ can break it. The best example is Sterak's, but we also have BoTRK, frozen mallet (ever played against a lucian with frozen mallet? Try to catch him and if you manage to, try to kill him). We are talking about ez so I will stick with him, but really the problem is not ez's q, it's the item beying both melee and ranged. My post might've ben a bit misleading but that's just about it, if items where designed to work on only melee or ranged champs, the game would be a lot easier to balance and it would be incredibly hard for a champ to break an item since the item would be designed with that fact in mind.

Ezreal is the only one who can spam sheen whille procing it on the ability that's activating it. No other ranged champion has a spammable ability that applies on-hit effects. He is unique.
GP's the only other one I can think of that procs sheen on a low CD ranged ability, but it's not nearly as obnoxious as Ezreal's Q
GP's Q isn't up nearly as constantly, has shorter range and is better served for use with the barrels anyway.

The thing about everyone else with a spammable skill is that they need to be within their 600~ or 150~ attack range to actually proc the Sheen effect. Ezreal has a 1150 range auto-attack skill that consumes Sheen; that's a range that most champions can't retaliate from.
Again, imagine if Urgot's Q procced on-hit effects. There's a reason why it doesn't.

iceborn is broken on a lot of melee champs too... like naut, malph, poppy, etc
none of them can spam it from range. naut can't even spam it, he just doesn't have the cooldowns.

i wasn't saying that ezreal uses it better than they do, just that the item wasn't garbage. it's still a pretty strong item on a bunch of other champions, just not abusive. i wish they would just lower the slow for ranged champions significantly so it wouldn't be so strong on ezreal. the whole idea of a late game caster adc is pretty cool though, i don't think they should remove that at all

It's ONLY spammable if he gets a tear (or some kind of mana item). If you let him farm enough to buy those items, he deserves to spam his skills. And even after he gets them, he's still going oom constantly. And his entire kit is skillshot based. Just dodge the spells. It's not that hard.

Are you for real?
So would Taric be renamed to "Ezreal Destroyer"? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
: You are nothing more than ass, waiting to be smashed
this asshole has broken every single sheen item and will be the reason no more sheen items will ever be inroduced again
You can't blame Ezreal for Iceborn Gauntlet.
The others, yes, but it's not Ezreal's fault that Riot won't man up and make the gauntlet melee only despite saying they liked it where melee was concerned and ranged were the problem cases.
Range champs are always a problem really. Even GP can abuse
cause if it kills a minion with the AoE it counts as a bullet and gives him the serpents.

Well yeah, but that's an expected gameplay mechanic. He can do it with Hydra cleaves and his own barrels too if he wants. His Q is actually a melee attack even though it has such high range, so even if they made IBG melee only, GP would still be able to do that.
Also, GP's Q has WAY less range than Ezreal's. Bushes aside, you'll KNOW when GP wants to shoot you in the face. Maybe you can't do much about it at the time, but you can at least see it coming long before he closes to within shooting distance.
If only they'd stop pretending he's an ADC from a SINGLE PIECE OF GIMMICKY BULLSHIT and balance him as a Mage like LITERALLY EVERY OTHER ASPECT OF HIS CHARACTER AND PLAYSTYLE POINTS HIM TOWARD BEING, we wouldn't have to worry about items getting ruined and his power getting hit every single time he gets popular.
But nah. Ezreal is an ADC. Totally. Good job Rito. Good job Season 2. Good job community.
How is Ezreal not an ADC? The majority of his sustained damage comes from his auto attacks, which have a 50% attack speed bonus on them due to his passive. He has poke in the form of his Q. Only the bad Ezreal players will only use his Q in fights and not auto attack. Even with blue build, he still does the most damage from his auto attacks.
what he is saying, is that besides ezreals passive, ezreal's kit is actually geared more towards a mage, it just so happens that players realized they could play him as ad and liked it.
He finds broken items all the time when he explores. : D
He's not destroying them, he's taking them away from the shopkeeper to put in a museum.
But they buffed it with cdr because of the sheen rework, and when s6 hit they deemed him as too powerful with Icebourne because he could cast spells a lot more, while being safe at the same time. They also gutted his ult cd cause of blue build.

They gutted his ult cooldown because his Q caused it to refresh almost instantly.
IBG was not gutted due to Ezreal, it was just nerfed in a way that only affected Ezreal and Ezreal still builds it after that nerf.

Actually, it affected
too.
Now thanks to the changes, Hecarim knockups his targets out of the slow zone with his E.
This makes the item lose a bit of synergy with Hecarim. It is still a good item because it is considerably cheap, offers armor, a Sheen proc, is cheaper than Triforce and allows him to buy The Black Cleaver. However, that nasty side effect is incredibly unfortunate and annoying and is actually game breaking in some rare situations.
Ezreal has been building freezy fists for years.
Yes but it only became an issue after it was changed to have 20% CDR, and his Q was buffed to reduce CDs by 1.5 seconds instead of 1.
To be fair, no one even liked runeglaive as a Mage jungle item.

I meant as a community. Certainly, some champs enjoyed runeglaive, but it was bad for a lot of Mage junglers. And every champ that could use runeglaive well would rather have full power lich bane along with the runic echo anyways. Burs.
Wait, what?
Ezreal has a habit of making items have to be rebalance because of his ability to abuse Sheen procs and low cost mana/regen/cdr/ap.
And eventually removed :c
You'd think they would rebalance him instead, but noooooo
Destroyed != changed. Learn the difference pls
Does Spirit of the Elder Lizard or Runeglaive still exist?
I'm talking more about ur iceborn gauntlet bit; it is still a great item
Riot will probably nerf IBG before making it melee only (which could only be a Exreal nerf).
I think they said somewhere that they wouldn't; they want to keep blue ezreal viable, but they recognize it's too strong right now.
They like blue build or they like Muramana on him? because honestly blue build is a pretty toxic way to play Ez imo, you literally just sit back and kite people non-stop, they can't get to you at all with your E and IBG. Hell, I main the damn dude and blue build annoys me. I'm not seeing in it what Rito is seeing in it as far as balance goes right now.
What about marksman with poke extra flash and item proccs on 1 ability? Or simply gayzereal because only pussies play that crap.
salt?
