Some basic laning strategy that I see many people missing.

So Im trying to hurriedly climb through Silver to get to Gold before the end of the season.

I play a lot of support, and one problem Iv noticed GET WORSE in Silver 3 than any rank below is bloodthirst, no notitem 3072 , I mean running all the way down the lane after a 200 HP enemy and flashing under the turret and dying. Yeah in lower ranks people did dumb shit, but in these matches my ADCs see low HP enemy and they just want to suicide to get that kill.

Consider this. If they get down to 200 or less HP, and you still have a lot of HP... Dont risk everything to get that kill. Just be happy that you can zone them off their farm. Be content that if you let them regen some HP they may come back out and the jungler can come down for an easy gank. I know getting that kill would put you ahead, but remember that every 15 CS is roughly the value of a kill. So if you gamble on getting a kill and lose, not only do you give your opponent the 300 gold, they will get 15 CS while youre respawning that you wont; effectively putting them 2 kills worth of gold ahead of you. Many people dont factor that in when theyre flashing under a turret.

So lets say you cripple the enemy ADC down to 100 HP. They should back. One global ult, gank, or unlucky minion agro could result in a death. Lets say they dont... this is ideal because the kill pressure on them is very high, meaning they can be zoned off of 75% of the farm. Sure, eventually they will regen enough HP to come back in. If you zoned them off enough waves though, you have the gold advantage. Maintaining this gold advantage will let you continue to win all the trades, get them low, hold the kill pressure, zone them off even more farm. This is winning your lane too, even if you dont go all 6/0 on them before 20 minutes comes.

Lots of people I end up supporting go deep for those kills, and pick up minion agro, take turret fire and end up taking a trade that went extremely in our favor and turning it into kill pressure against us. Greed is blinding, and it makes people do stupid things. What some of you need to start doing is saying "Can I get that kill" and act according to sound judgment on that, instead of "I want that kill" and risking everything for it. Knowing when you can get a kill vs when you cant is the trick.

Some things to consider:

Do you have flash and they dont? Do you have vision in case theyre baiting? Will you take turret fire? Will you agro a minion wave (and a cannon minion) and have them behind you? Is their support full health with CC off cooldown? Is your support close enough to act, has abilities off cooldown?

I know this is common sense to some people, but it isnt to others. I get a little frustrated watching my ADC take turret fire trying to chase a 230 HP Lucian/Ezreal then they have to back losing what would have been a CS advantage.

If you force them to back, and get 2 waves of CS you get gold and they dont. If you kill them and have to back, you get kill gold instead of CS gold... the difference is, you ALSO get XP when you stay in lane AND THEY DONT. STAY IN LANE! Dont go off trying to kill with insane bloodlust and get yourself killed. Your greed is your own worst enemy.

Good luck.

Thank you.

Im just trying to PSA a little bit here. So many games just thrown on the ground by the bloodthirsty fools who ironically put themselves behind by trying so hard to put themselves ahead.

I remember play Shaco Support (which I do often) and I gave my Luc Krugs at the start easy. So we walk into lane, he kills a couple of minions, gets level 2, and immediately dashes into the two enemy bot laners. Here I am, a level 1 Shaco 20% to level 2 with only my W skill wondering WTF this guy is doing. So I run to help him. Unfortunately, I don't have my Q for the gapcloser or escape, so I get chunked, we're both eating minion damage, we're both overextended, and now the second minion wave is on us... Did I mention her support was Braum?

We lost that game.

Yeah, Shaco is nontraditional support, but can be a real pain. Your experience is the same as mine though. ADC has what they believe to be a huge advantage, and banks everything on it only to come up broke.

Im sure he let you know that was your fault too :/
