Now that the break is over I want a Rioter to address GRIEFING SUPPORTS cause of AUTOFILL...

Been a few threads that discuss it, but we have all seen it.

EDIT: I urge anyone reading this to share their experiences so Rioters can read what it is were all seeing, and maybe get a response.

Some total asshat gets autofilled into support, and would rather do anything other than actually support. They wont build a sight stone, usually build like a carry, and often feed. They dont give a damn either often saying "I wont get autofilled that much, doesnt matter" indicating they have no desire to support, and just wont when theyre forced to.

The typical response I would expect is that "It will primarily affect those people and their games in the long run." Its affected me several times. Iv had as many as 3 autofilled supports in a row who pick random stuff from junglers to top laners and refuse to build sight stone and have no clue how to play a 2v2 lane that is the prime gank target. They dont care either...

So I want a Rioter to come and tell me this is how autofill is supposed to work. To make the games where people are forced into a role and then grief is supposed to help the game. Shorter queue times into horrible matches is what were getting in lower elo.

Hashtag: Autotrolls.

I don't like autofill because it means my Queue times are longer than 1/2 a second. Janna

At the same time, those same autofill trolls who don't build SS and such are on the other team as well (almost always Lux or Brand).

But either way, I think sightstone is overrated until you get to mid-high elo, since you'll notice that even laners with yellow trinket simply just don't use it, don't buy control wards, and scream at the 'support' for not doing all of it. Most of the time, these same players don't even look at the map and don't see the Katarina running down river, despite mid spam pinging and typing in chat.

TBH, if I was in bronze/low silver, I wouldn't play Janna/Leona/Thresh either and I'd build as carry in that role too. It's too much RNG as to whether your team is completely oblivious or not.

Just a minor nitpick RNG and Luck aren't the same thing, as RNG is 100 percent random, and Luck (while normally means at random) in the terms of League of legends there are multiple factors that contribute as to who your team is. So while BASICALLY random not quite the same.

So basically Luck is randomness based on certain principals, not 100% randomness.

That was way too long of a rant for something that small but... [slayer-jinx-catface]

I'm gonna have to do this. I love my girls Janna and Soraka, but I can't take ADCs who push up to tower, refuse to help ward even when asked with a nice please and thank you, and then blame me when they die to a gank from the river that I saw coming and warned them about.

Vel'koz is fun.

Here is the problem:

"TBH, if I was in bronze/low silver, I wouldn't play Janna/Leona/Thresh either and I'd build as carry in that role too."

Thats what the assclowns do. It isnt working for them either... its WHY they wont ever get out of low elo...

So what you said is "TBH if I was bronze/low silver, I would just stay there hoping for a gimmick to get me out."

Maybe there are people who dont look at minimap, pay attention to pings. So why bother with the people who do. Just throw those tools on the ground. I see these excuses match after match in my games. Im trying to use the information, and I have a player with your mindset telling me "No one uses the information so I wont do it" while Im asking them to do it so I can use the information.

So it sounds more like a case of people dont play meta properly because they believe people dont play the meta properly... kinda circular.

I can go through my match history and show you my games where Im mid and OUR support isnt building sigh stone, but the opponet support is... I can show you a lot of correlated losses too.

I know there are a ton of potatoes in low elo, but people really seem to forget that there are people peppered in doing placements, climbing to their true rank, people ranking up smufs, people smurfing to play with lower elo friends, people draged down on a losing streak from trolls. There are more than a dozen reasons why the person on your team, or enemy team is playing at a Gold or higher level. STILL people just go with "Its Bronze, it dun matter wut I do, its Bronze you can do anything and get away with it, its Bronze counters dont matter, its Bronze meta champs arnt needed.

I consider Sightstone very crucial in any divisiom to be honest. Just the fact that you spent 800 gold on an item that provides wards makes you wanna use the damn thing. Even placing the wards in non-optimal places will still offer some vision. People might not take advantage of the vision control they have in Bronze, but it's still there and might prevent a gank or something.

At the same time, if you are in Bronze and wanna carry, you're probably better of playing some aggressive support, like Brand or Zyra and just going full damage. The 800G you would use on a sightstone could be used to buy more damage and kill the enemies more and more, which again, in Bronze, is more important.

That's not griefing, it's off meta, and not reportable or punishable

/s

Still, by Riot standards, they shouldn't be punished

Weasel Kensei3 votes

Excuse me, but not giving a damn if they win or lose because they didnt want to support ISNT OFF META!

Dont filter what YOU DO to excuse people who go into the match and say as much as "I dont support, I can just lose this match and move on."

There is a difference between off meta and , "fuck all statistics about supports not building sight stone, Id rather lose than support."

"Giving up" is listed under one of the report categories. Not caring from the start of a game certainly fits.

DepressedAhri1 votes

It is categorized as "Unsportsmanlike Conduct." And can even be "Intentional Feeding" if you go into a game without the intent to win, especially if you verbally bring your team down, too.

My experience has basically me being autofilled and saying something like "Welp oh well i used to be a support main but its been a while." then locking in like Alistar or something. I havent actually seen a troll support in either team.

You're either not playing ranked or have played a total of 3 games and have gotten extremely lucky.

Skorch1 votes

Ive played probably around 30 or so Ranked games

Weasel Kensei1 votes

It really depends on where your elo is at.

You must not be playing those in Bronze, Silver level.

If you have played 30 games at least 6 of those would have had an autofill support on your team, and half of those would have just said "Fuck it, Im not supporting, ff@20 moving on to a game where Im not support."

Welcome to pre season 6, where if you were last pick 9/10 times you were the support. People need to learn all the roles because most of the time their not even that effective in their own roles.

The problem isn't auto full, it's the people who are being autofilled. Autofill is great for everyone because it allows for shorter que times and increases your overall likelihood of playing games in your primary position. However, a lot of individuals chose that trolling for the game is more fun than playing support. These individuals stand out more obviously and make it seem like autofill is bad. Honestly it's a great system and I think it'll get better once people get bored of starring at death timers and realize playing blitz or Zyra And making plays is actually fun.

Weasel Kensei2 votes

Here is the thing then. We either need better tools to punish people who ruin the game for their 4 other team mates cause they didnt want to support, or we need some way to stop autofilling assholes into the support position.

Either way we go, these people are creating toxic waste of peoples time.

No one wants to go into a match and have their ethnicity, religion, sexuality, intelligence continually insulted by some deranged, hateful, bigoted 13 year old... but I think these people trolling on support are just as bad for the game. While I agree that autofill isnt specifically the problem I have, it can easily be argued that the time saved in que timers is lost with all the dodges people do to avoid being autofilled, and is certainly not worth it to get into a match faster where some clown will grief cause they got autofilled.

420 grams1 votes

This is why I want to climb. Even though high level players are toxic, they don't ruin games over petty stuff like autofill.

nergalsfang1 votes

its pretty funny when you get filled to mid. there is a way to get around getting autofilled...

Snowman Arc1 votes

I mean, what can you do instead? Go back to role-calling season 5 ranked? No, thanks. Or do you wanna wait in Queue for 2x the time hoping someone will sacrifice themselves to play Support in order to get into a game? No to this either.

Of course, that doesn't change the problem that exists, but in all honesty, it's not a Riot problem, it's the players' problem. The players choose to go around and troll and mess up the game for everyone and Riot can't fix that. There is the report button, but that's pretty much all you can do. Same way someone in top lane can feed and troll, the autofill support can also feed and troll. That's not Riot's fault.
