We should get higher mastery levels by completing fun challenges

Ok sure but why··1 votes·554 views

Because it's annoying as shit going 34/2/1 and only getting a C- by Riot's impeccable standards

Honestly, the possibilities are endless

Braum - Absorb 700 damage with a single shield Nasus - Reach 500 stacks Veigar - Kill an enemy with only one ability Vayne - Kill an enemy by dealing mostly true damage Alistar - Successfully keep an enemy hard cc'd for four seconds straight

All it takes is two seconds of your imagination, Riot

No, because that means people will start playing for ranks as opposed to win and that defeats the purpose of the mastery system and is completely opposite of what riot wants.

Hey, the challenges don't have anything to do with "Die 5 times before 10 minutes." They can be things that actually involve being good. Which one of those challenges above has to do with being bad and throwing the game?

I'd assume to get lv 8 you'd need to get those S's for lv 7 1st ;).

I never said anything about being bad. Not in the slightest. Where did I say that at?

What I said is that people will play for ranks as opposed to playing for the win which is the exact opposite of what riot wants with the mastery system, which is why they haven't released what factors go into getting grades.

Zane Zephyr means that some people will go out of their way to complete challenges when they should be doing something else.

It's kind of like in DOOM (2016). The Challenges in each level always involve things that are in some way beneficial; such as killing enemies a certain way or finding hidden items; but going out of my way to get them often got me killed. A example would be widdling down an enemy's health so I can do a specific Glory Kill instead of just shooting them in the face with a Super Shotgun and moving on to the next one.

People would also get salty if they don't get the challenges, leading to more raging.

I don't really like the idea, simply because it isn't really consistent with the idea of champion mastery. Getting regular champion mastery is straightforward (high scores, win games), but this would differ between each individual champion. There then comes the problem of some of the challenges being too hard, or too easy. Some of the challenges might require knowledge of a champion's mechanics, say an Azir combo, whereas others could only be achieved by getting lucky with the situation.
