Sugar Momma17 votesI wouldn't say it's the "easiest" role. You can climb high fairly easily with it, but once you get to ~Diamond you will face other support mains more frequently than auto fill supports.
Support is the role that probably roams most, after jungle. You don't need to CS, but good supports know how to help their ally CS, especially under turret. There are just a lot of good things that separate the really good supports from the good supports.

EndlessSorcerer3 votesHonestly, picking anything with utility and/or waveclear is a great way to climb considering how many people just pick damage-oriented carries.
The ability to initiate fights, peel, siege and stall are extremely valuable to enable your carries (or stall if you fall behind).
