Reporting a feeder via a ticket to Riot, hearing them say they'll look into it, searching the feeder on OP.GG, and refreshing the page once per day to see "Last played: 6 days ago" turn into 7, then 8, then 9, etc.

Cool. Didn't get the same results when I sent them a YT video that showed all informstion needed to penslize them. They didn't even want to take a look at him, they just didn't care. At least your case had a better ending.

Ok sure but why15 votes

Yeah, half the time I actually include, "I know you won't care that he fed, which is why I'm happy to say that he also insulted my mother!"

And they always say, "Well, it is pretty hard to tell if people aren't just having a bad game, but dear goodness? He insulted your mother? That is just not okay!!!!"

There's no need for this, Riot handled the player and felt that they did deserve to be punished, lest they would not have been banned.

Debating with the OP over whether or not the reported player deserved it is pointless, Riot already decided it was deserved.

You know that the OP's attitude is annoying for you, why give them more opportunities to annoy you?

inactivity on OPGG doesn't prove he was banned. OP provided 0 evidence towards the inting. For all you know, he died twice in lane trying Akali and was banned.(According to OP.)

True, however Riot is very careful about false positives, if the OP was wrong to report the person then nothing will happen, and if the person did deserve to be punished then Riot will deal with them accordingly. It's not worth debating with the OP because nobody has the data to prove any claims anyways.

I got distracted halfway through the edit so you wound up replying before I could finish saying something I meant to say, sorry about that, I'll expand upon it here:

You know that the OP's attitude and opinion is annoying to you, and you know that they likely won't listen (for numerous reasons) so why entice them to annoy you further by replying to them? Is it because this is the particular issue you have difficulty letting go? I understand if it is, we all have something like that. But I'd like to encourage you to stop before it goes any further, the only think you will gain from continuing is a headache and a somewhat more ruined day. And it would be all for naught, because nothing positive will come from it anyways.

Riot isn't perfect. If 10 idiots false report every day, a margin will be created from them of false punishments. If Riot was perfect, people would know that false reports have no weight. But it's the opposite. EVERYONE knows false reports hold weight, and to report anyone that crosses them.

Rehti Jorma2 votes

False reports hold weight? How? I play almost every day LOL. I get told that I'm reported EVERY SINGLE DAY for "feeding" because im just not that good of a player and I play mostly just ARAM for fun.

I have never seen nothing come out of those false reports. And on the other hand, I ALWAYS report people who mock other players calling them f.e. "idiots" "retards" "gays" etc. and I have received many confirmations that my reports have led to a penalty.

So from my point of view reporting works just as it should, I do not get penalized because I die more than I kill but people who are toxic and flame ARE penalized. In my short time of playing I have encountered 2 players who just ran to towers for whatever reasons they had. I reported both for intentionally feeding as did probably everyone else in my team. I did not receive any report from those as far as I remember. But I did check the second players play record in similar way that OP did after a day and he stopped playing the next day and has not since returned to play on his account.

SpeedBoi2 votes

Dude look, you can't just ban someone because he fed, how do you know its trolling { yes he did sent a video, in this case he is right} but how do you know if he was/was not trying to play? Exactly, everyone dies from time to time, everyone has bad games.

I treat my team, like they are any other type of team. Telling people you are going to report them makes you a fucking idiot that loses at least 15% more games for salting your allies.

0% of the time, telling someone you are going to report them is useful.

Now compared to the massive bitches and SJW that play this game and whine non-stop, I would consider this a fairly good attitude.

telling someone you are going to report them =/= actually reporting them

Nobody said they were going to threaten anybody with reports. Methinks you're projecting anger over something completely unrelated to this.

Threatening to report someone is literally a punishable behavior, because it is entirely devoid of positive outcomes, and it is tilting for the person being threatened. Nobody is disputing this with you, so why are you arguing at people over it?

Edit: You could have just said, "I'm not a hypocrite." and left it at that. No need to use strawman fallacies.

If I am a hypocrit as the antagonist to this purpose of this thread, it means what exactly?

Is he saying I contact support every time my fucking panties tighten up my ass? Because I don't, but that would make me a hypocrite.

Also threatening to report is 'punishable' behavior, yet somehow, people break this rule uncontested more than any rule in the game, so go fucking figure right?

Also the topic is named this: You know what's better than a successful report feedback?

This pretty obviously implies this kid is the-hall-monitor and reports everyone. I would bet my first born sons life the OP reported the person he is talking about.

More or less, I disagree my post was off target. I know exactly who he is and what he is arguing.

HalcyonDweller6 votes

The person may have been mistaken. If it's not true then it's just a petty insult and you should shrug it off like you claim that you do when your teammates are toxic in-game.

It's possible they called you a hypocrite for looking down on people who look down on and report others. But that's only a guess.

There's a spectrum of opinions ranging from the extremes on each side of for reports and against reports. You're coming at this issue from the far extreme of against reports. And it's so far to the extreme that the way you argue your point is by demeaning and insulting people from the opposing point of view. That's no way to prove anything to anybody.

If you're just trying to make yourself feel superior to them then by all means carry on. But if you want anybody new to change their mind or align / agree with you then you're going to have to find more approachable ways to argue your point of view.

Hmm, it really isn't the only reason. It's certainly the reason for some people some of the time, but there are plenty of legitimate reasons people report others for.

It's not like skin color where the person is that way for all time. Sometimes people get very tilted and act terribly. Other times they don't care and let behavior roll off their backs like water.

If you think that people shouldn't be reported for losing their cool then you should also understand that people shouldn't get in trouble for losing their cool and reporting people who upset them.

I think that people that report don't even understand the weight of their own reports. And also have the worst possible paradigm over what is reportable. If they even speak the word report, it's 100% guarentied riot burns the data they send them without second thought. Like, this OP probably has blocked reports because riot is sick of him by now. That's probably why he sends support tickets, because he stopped getting feedback after spam-reporting everyone possible and he knows his opinion(reports) is shit now.

I was duoing with master yi/nidalee funnel in silver, and 3 of my teammates threaten me with report at the match screen because I have smite, and flame me for the first 5 minutes of the game, it ends with 3 master yi pentakills, and apologies from all of them, I'm tired of this old story where people that suck at the game don't even have the capability to distinguish between trolling and carrying anyway. If you are not diamond, then your ability to understand the game compromises your ability to even tell carrying from trolling apart.

All reports do in bronze is ban people for nothing, I fully believe that. The idiot that reported the other idiot will peak at silver 1, and will have a reality check about whos fault it is he is silver.

HalcyonDweller3 votes

As far as I know, the IFS doesn't block reports. It would be reasonable to think that it might, but we don't have proof that it does.

My understanding is this: The IFS reviews behavior from a match the same regardless of who reports them or even how many reports they receive. After it decides whether or not the behavior is punishable it acts or does not act against the player who was reported. Whether the reports are valid or not is irrelevant, because all the reports do is trigger a review. Punishment only comes if the behavior was deemed by the IFS to actually be punishable.

Triggering someone to be reviewed because you feel like it, isn't toxic?

When you report someone, you are compromising their account.

You are threatening to personally ban them.

That is what the action signifies.

This is compounded by the fact noobs don't even know what the hell they are looking at, and can end up fully blaming other people for mistakes that are completely their own.

Being reported more, means higher chance of a failed review.

I have not been banned, but I have been chat banned before, I quantify this to games played.

I've played about 40,000 games of League of Legends, and I have been chat banned 3 times in a period of 7 years.

All 3 of my chat bans are 'correct', but are solely a statistical product of games played, and not a representation of my account.

Each chat ban itself, almost 10,000 games apart.

You tell me, if I failed a review of 3 games out of 40,000, is that good or bad?

The people that reported me, were honestly bitches. The third chat ban, I was actually flaming someone that was afk and also disconnected, and I haven't used chat since then because if that persons reports matters, then reports are clearly fucked.

Riot perma-banned the person that reported me resulting in my chat ban too. Makes tons of sense I am honor level 0 for 4 months solely because I play 1 game with a person that ends up getting perma-banned, and his report actually is 'significant' towards my own accounts standing, and review process.

The short answer, is people that care about reports, that's ALL they care about. And it's ruining the game in more ways than 1.

Indirectly(Indirectly) this is wrong. More reports does lead to more punishment, because of probability. So it's just a hard-fact, more reports=more bans. And again with Riven, this is proven, she is the most reported AND the most banned. If there was not correlation, you wouldn't even expect the most banned and most reported champion to be the same one, but they are one in the same. So you are wrong, but indirectly. Directly, you are correct.

That probability is predicated on the assumption that you also have been exhibiting punishable behavior. More reports only result in more bans if you have a tendency to do things that are actually punishable. I've said this before, if you aren't doing anything punishable then the false reports don't affect your likelihood of being banned, even if you're getting falsely reported 100% of the time.

Sure whatever. What I am explicitly telling you as a Katarina main, is that even when I never use chat, I am 4x reported for feeding and 4x honored for carrying. Behavior is exlusive to champions that don't use mechanics. If your champion is highly mechanical, prepare to be reported for 'losing the game'. That is simply the reality. Experience can vary, but this is my perspective as a 2 million mastery point, season 1 katarina with 40,000 games. People report me for 'feeding' if we lose, and honor me if we win, behavior has little to do with it between champions like that.

More like a stereotype than a trend if you ask me. I can literally promise you, you will be reported if you start maining Kat today, and in this hypothetical you have perfect behavior.

How can you be so sure if reports are, were, or will be made? There's no feedback telling us how many times we are reported or if we are reported. Maybe you're assuming that people report you. Maybe you're assuming that it's everyone when it might not be.

thx. I still curse them out verbally irl, honestly the best method.

I concur, it's healthy to let that frustration out in a way that won't cause harm to anybody and won't get you into trouble.

Yes, but again, just like reports, the entire thing is a sham based on winning. I rarely get honor when I lose, even if I was the main carry. If we win, everyone defaultly honors me. 0 thought process behind it, they look at score alone.

NOT everyone.

Yeah, but the reason they are reported is for the gratification of the ban. The person doing the reporting sees the only positive outcome is the player is ban, while riot considers this amazing concept called 'reform'. The bitch won't be happy until the player is banned, this topic is proof, the player that trolled him could have reformed by now, but he checks opgg everyday to see if his hate-ban remains intact. He is worse than the player that trolled him, you will never convince me otherwise.

I see this topic as proof that some people are that way. It doesn't mean that all people are though.

I'm living breathing proof that it's not the case for everyone. When I report via ticket (which is rarely) I leave it at that and don't obsess over whether or not the person gets punished.

Ok, that's fair, it was rude of me to suggest that you might be biased from being banned. I apologize for that.

However, you have made some assumptions here that are quite untrue. For example, "people who report via support tickets" is actually a very broad category encompassing everyone who has ever submitted a report via a support ticket. But such people are not all alike. Here are a few varieties that you all lumped together unfairly:

  1. People who report anything they don't like via support ticket - IMO it's fair of you to think such people are drama queens, but they're not the only kind of person who reports via support tickets.
  2. People who report anything they think is punishable via support ticket.
  3. People who report things which they believe that the IFS will have difficulty detecting, in order to help ensure that a human sees the case and hopefully intervenes before the IFS fails to catch the behavior and winds up letting it continue for weeks before it finally gets caught.
  4. People who report only the most egregious behavior they encounter, at a rarity somewhere along the lines of once in a blue moon.

Not everyone who reports via ticket is the same, and when you lump them all together and attack them as one entity you drive away the perfectly reasonable members of group #3 or #4 who would most likely agree with you had you not attacked them in the first place.

They haven't been excessively sassy or used logical fallacies to avoid considering the points I've made. One isolated troll fake-reporting people is not a problem. But reporting, all of us together, the mass of players, is how WE define what is and is not acceptable. We all have different opinions, but it's by reporting all together that we get to a consensus. And the more people who actively report, the more accurate the consensus will be. The more negligible the troll will be, lost in the mass. And maybe you disagree with me, and I'm more strict and report too easily, but at least you need to accept the rules and play the game, not just reject the whole system of reports as some SJW bullshit. Because it isn't that, it's just some giant negotiations between all players to decide what WE want OUR community to be. And we need your voice in that negotiation, not you refusing to participate entirely and throwing stones at the other players involved.

And well, OK, OP here proved with their other posts that they are another kind of ass-hole, the one that doesn't understand it's normal to lose roughly half your matches and always look for someone to blame. But at first, someone just came and basically said "cool, reporting works", and your first reflex was to find dirt on them and tell them they are the problem? Just why?...

If you're getting that much enjoyment out of getting people punished, you need some hobbies in your life, man.

League is my hobby. Serving 2 weeks of cold, hard justice to those that threaten my hobby is icing on the cake.

Rip. When I submit "behavior tickets" they tell me they can't do anything and I should report at end game lobby. Lol.

Every ticket I send in they respond personably and similar to the OP. Maybe you misread it? They are required to say that they can not TELL you about what they might find
