Thornmail sucks balls for most champions

Besides Malphite Rammus Trundle who can only make it useful with having obnoxious amounts of armor from their kits and builds.

item 3075 is a very very bad item to build, either revert the nerfs or rework it to be sort of like that dota 2 item that when activated reflects damage back to the enemy.

Example of how it could be reworked:

item 3075

Same cost.

75 armor

Unique Active: For the next 0.5 second(s)(+1 second every 50 bonus armor excluding Thornmails) you inflict 50% damage received from physical auto attacks and physical spells/abilities to the champion that hurt you as physical, magic, or true damage(45s cooldown).

Made like this so it isnt a rush or 1 item wonder for adcs to abuse to hell. A tank/bruiser build of item 3068 item 3143 item 3047 item 3065 item 3742 item 3075 . With that build the total bonus armor(excluding Thornmail) including armor yellows is 60+9+50+50+30=199 bonus armor(let's say 200) gives the player a 6.5 second active.

If an ADC built thornmail and ninja tabis they would maybe have a 1.2 second active.

If a mage went thornmail, tabis, and zhonyas they would barely go over a 2 second duration.

The problem with Thornmail is that it doesn't make the user more of an active threat. As a result, in order to 'feel useful', the passive damage return needs to be absurdly frightening to be at all worth using.

If Thorn dropped the whole bonus armor damage nonsense so that it would be useful on things that aren't Leona, Malph, and Rammus, then that would be a good place to start. Then add some new mechanic in its place that makes the wearer more of a threat. The thing that comes to mind right away is an OnHit magic damage bleed effect that also makes the damage return more powerful for each stack on the target.

So let's say it deals 60 magic damage over the course of 4 seconds per stack. Have the damage return start somewhere around 10 to 15%, then ramp up by another 5-10% each time you put a stack of bleed on the target, capping at whatever is a reasonable number.

See, problem with the old Thornmail is that a fully built champ with access to self healing or shields could basically let an ADC kill themselves on them. And that really isn't good design. By adding the bleed to Thornmail, you don't want a Thorn user attacking you since it hurts AND makes the damage return more powerful. It would make the item far more interactive than it is right now.

item 3075 is a situational item that is only worth vs 2 or more auto attack reliant team comps

and its never meant to be a stand alone item hence how its passive is stronger with more bonus armor so pairing it with any other armor item makes it stronger

ideally paring it with an item that provides debuffs and damage reduction and hp would be ideal item 3143
