Getting 26LP per win, losing 14LP per loss; Go 2W-2L and down 1LP

Please explain to me again why promo series hard sets your LP to 100?

48LP Win, 73LP (+25) Win, 99 LP (+26) Win, series (100LP, +1LP) Lose, Lose Out of series 72LP (-28LP, presumably -14LP, -14LP - I had been getting 25-27LP per win and losing 13-15LP per loss) Win - 98LP (+26LP).

I don't have a problem with not getting a series at 99 LP. I have a problem with coming out of a 0-2 series at 72LP, when had I got the losses first I would have been at 97LP after 1 win and in a series after the next.

What should happen: 99LP Win +26LP (125LP, series) Lose, Lose (-28LP, at 97LP) Win, 123LP new series.

I mean, I literally just SKIPPED A DIVISION when I won my last series. This whole mechanic is just needless blocking to climbing. 25LP just disappears because it's extra - basically a full win, wasted. I'm already playing at a considerably higher MMR than my rank, wasted wins are really illogical (they just widen the gap between my MMR and my rank).

At least there's promo helper in gold1- to help balance this out - but I can't imagine how frustrating it must be in plat+ series to see this happen. There's ABSOLUTELY no need or reason for it. There's reason to have series and I respect that (even if I disagree) but there's no reason for your LP to not be remembered and capable of going over 100...

Because at least if you are under plat, you get a free win next time anyways..

I agree with you. It's frustrating but - being under plat - it doesn't matter all that much. It does suck for people in plat+ though, seems really unfair.

And honestly, I'd rather this be sorted out and we get rid of the free promo win. Let it go to 125LP, if I win the series start me at 25LP in the next division. If I lose it count that 25LP towards my new total (and if that puts me right back in to a series, then so be it).

Really, I'd rather just drop series and demotion protection etc... and just have a straight ladder. I accept the reasons for having it in place though. If it's going to be this way, they should make it as smooth as possible. I've now been a 97-99LP 4 times so far this season (for context, I've played 6 series, winning 3 of them). That's 4 times 22-26LP (winning 25-27LP per win) has been 'wasted' whether I won that series or not. That's 100LP in total just disappeared.

I mean, Theoretically you are still raising your MMR.

The thing that bothered me was back in season 5 i was g1 in promos to to plat 5 on the last day.. Since g2 i was playing with players in plat 3. a few p4s and 1 or 2 p2s, mostly p3... now Tell me this.. if im in my promos to the next division, regardless of MMR, shouldn't i get a game of other players in the same rank? It doesn't seem far to make me play with players half way through the next division just to get into that division. I should've been playing with a bunch of p5s if it was actually fair.

Yes I agree with that as well. I had to beat Plat 4s to get to Gold 5 last season... Then it was plat 3s and 2s that I had to beat while in gold 5 so I just stopped...
