Because Yorick can use his abilities and watch as you have to walk into a bush while he is getting healed and you are taking disgusting amounts of damage. FFS, he can back and you will still take damage

Only one ability give him some sustain, that is not even that huge. He can reincarnate for some seconds, but he died already, so you won your money. He just has a chance to revenge, it is a way worse zilean ult

Zed can do more damage , and entering in a bush doesn't deny it. He also is not mana gated.

zed u combo with yorick you smash your face on your keyboard and they have to back off everytime every 5 seconds always vs u die every min but u know u can farm for some of it

Actually, buying one MR item will pretty much deny good part of yorick ghost damage. Also, yorick will go oom eventually. Zed will never go OOM and will spam abilities on your face until you die or leave lane

Zed is unhealthy as he is so safe and so good at being an assassin compared to other assassins. Yorick is unhealthy too for reasons you know.

Yorick is unthealthy because his damage is nearly impossible to avoid. But we have a lot of champions like that. And they are way better than yorick. They are either tankier, or do more damage

Not to the same degree. Most champions with reliable damage don't have the same kind of guaranteed sustain, easy poke and strength in melee fights that Yorick has. When Yorick is strong, there is no reasonable way for the people he counters to respond to him.

And they are way better than yorick.

Of course they are. Everyone is better than Yorick. Yorick sucks. He has purposely been nerfed into being terrible because of how unhealthy he is. Just because other champions are stronger than him means literally nothing for how healthy he is. It just means that he's not having a majorly negative game impact because he isn't strong enough to do so.

It's been a long time since the "Yorick was strong" days, but trust me, we don't want to return to them.

Useless, but unfun. That's why Riot is dumpstering him until his rework. He has a point-and-click magic damage spell that heals for the damage dealt and scales off his attack damage. Once he has tear, his mana problems nearly disappear.

hes just extremely annoying to lane against unlike zed, you cant dodge his abilities and he gets to build like 2 dmg items then full tank and still do a decent amount of damage hes intentionally kept "meh" cus hes the definition of cancer

You can buy a mr item, since he doesn't get magic pen, because he is investing in mana. Zed can spam forever. Yorick will eventually go oom.

Not with the current mana system. With the current mana system, infinite mana is possible. Buying a Corrupting Potion early can help with early mana problems, then buying a Tear as Yorick makes his problems almost meaningless. An Essence Reaver later on as one of his few damage items then achieves true infinite mana. Once he has Tear, Yorick is essentially manaless. That's the point. If you disagree, then you have not laned against him or AS him.

Sorry, what? Everything with strong upfront burst can stomp yorick. Or , you know, tanks, since yorick damage on EW is magical, so his damage heavily decreases when you buy a mr item.

Burst is one of the worst things you can pick into tanky sustain, tanks were out dueled in lane by his sustain, range, and over time power, and he built ad so mr didn't help much.

They nerfed him into the ground and top lane is better for it.

He's more anti-fun than Zed as well because, after the laning phase, he isn't all that fun for the person playing as him as well.

I always see yorick as a "once they hit level 3, you forget them" champ

if you have any range at all or can get him into melee range with a lane-bully champ like darius or jax, he's going to take a beating
