Next thing you know, we'll only get starter runes (1 per tier), with the rest requiring RP to purchase when Runes Reforged comes out! Marketing strategy at its finest.
Emotes do not impact game play like runes do. Don't forget, pings are not being removed. This is just something cosmetic like a skin
You've got it backwards.
If you say Riot can't make money on cosmetic bonuses, then they would need to charge for gameplay elements. If they can't charge for gameplay elements then they need to charge for cosmetics.
Riot just made all the runes free. Some ppl are so greedy and can't get enough free stuff [slayer-jinx-unamused]
