[suggestion] With 10 bans next season can we please make bans optional instead of mandatory?

Edit: Instead of banning random champs like A-Atrox, why not just have a button that says "SKIP BAN".... Why do we need to ban 10 champs every game? Maybe I want to play a game with all OP champs?

Hey guys,

So they've more or less implied that next season their gonna offer 10 bans per game ie 1 ban for each player.

While this will make champ select even longer, I think it's fair for every player to have a way to shape their game in the form of a ban.

However I personally enjoy playing against all champions and before I used to always skip my bans. This is because I don't really think anyone is OP and I enjoy playing against anyone.

Except fizz fuck that champ.

So can we make bans optional again? Maybe I don't wanna ban anyone that game. Maybe I don't like being forced by riot to ban even though I don't want to.

I think banning 10 unique champs per game is too much, and they shouldn't force everyone to ban a different champ.

What do you guys think should bans be optional next season, since evey player will get a ban? Or should we still force everyone to ban champions? Do you think banning 10 unique champions every game is gonna be healthy for the game?

Let me know

Cheers!

I remember the old days when you were first pick. You asked for any preferred ban and nobody answer it or just said nah and then you proceed to skip all bans. xD

When they confront me about the no bans I will always say, I asked before hand and you said nothing xD Normally people then woudl suggest a champion for the last ban. It was funny

Yep exactly I used to do this too. Not because I wanted to tilt my teammates pregame, but because honestly I dont think any champion is THAAAT OP that they have to be banned.

That being said yes I often use bans because some champs are really overtuned ATM. But that being said, Player should have the freedom / option to not being forced to ban, if they so choose.

You shouldn't have to ban champions because they are OP (thought that is probably the most common use for them).

You generally want to ban champions who can counter your team composition or champion picks to better your odds of victory.

Then go play blind pick

Nah I don't like mirror lanes

Well then deal with them, or deal with banning champions.

There is no advantage to not banning ever, in any circumstance.

And riot has said that they are working on not making the ban phase significantly longer

I don't understand why you think that care to explain? Currently we have 6 bans. In the future well have ten. If some of those players decide not to ban anyone it's not the end of the world, plus you're not forcing them to do something they don't like.

Why do you think forcing players to ban against their will is a good idea ?

I think the problem here is no one else views banning a champion as a heinous act the way you do. "Against their will"?? come on now

Well its like this, I think that players should have the freedom/ option do play this game however they want.

So by FORCING players to do a certain thing, I think thats not very appealing. I get where you're comming from, and I for sure use bans. But some games I might not want to ban anyone..... Shouldnt I at least have the freedom/ option to do so?

I can't remember the last time I saw anyone complain about having to ban someone outside of this thread.

"Well its like this, I think that players should have the freedom/ option to play this game however they want."

Then you're playing the wrong game. Can you leave a match in the middle of it to go make a sandwich? No. Can you dive the enemy 1v5 and die over and over again? No, that's called intentional feeding and if you do it repeatedly you'll get banned.

League is a game with rules, and it's also a team game in which the individual players matter less than the enjoyment of the team as a whole. It has never been the case in League that you can play and do whatever you want.

Just ban troll stuff (like urgot, Eve, aatrox, etc) if you don't want to ban something.

But hows that different that click a button which says "SKIP BAN". Idk I just think it would make sense to NOT ban someone as opposed to banning a random champ.

because it show that you are directly or indirectly are putting your team at a disadvantage or its perceived that way . just like the old system when you were 1st pick and had all 3 bans and if you choose not to ban you are tilting your team pregame and maybe there is a broken champ they want banned but ur like im gonna be about ME and the TEAM and not ban then the likely hood of being vs that champ is higher. im less worried about 10 bans and more worried about the wait to get into champ select.

if they fix that then the other wouldnt be an issue

Yes I can see where you're comming from, but in the new system every player will get a ban. That way they can ban whatever they want, its not my fault if I dont ban someone OP is it?

Especially now with 4 more bans, I'm sure OP champs will all be covered. Hell if we can ban them out with 6 bans, it should be VERY easy to ban all god tier champs with 10.

I would like the option of not banning at all, because I personally want to play and practice playing vs OP champs in normals.

Idk just my two cents, thanks for your reply :)

its just a discussion and no one is invalid by having it we are talking hypotheticals ... but when it comes to your ban how would clicking some one in 2 secs making it any longer? it just gives every one a voice. im not in favor of getting kicked cuz u dont ban i think they do that cuz it looks like you are afk... tabbed out ect not cuz u didnt ban someone. but 132 champs 10 bans dont cover 10 % of them . its only 8% of champs being banned and there are more then 10 champs that are a hassle

Nope! League is a team-game. If you don't mind playing against busted champions, then ban one anyway so your team doesn't have to play against them.
