Fiora's old model+splash art

Śhunpo··18 votes·1,834 views

Old Fiora kit aside, can we at least agree that Fiora's model and splash art pre-rework were leagues better than her current model+splash? Like, I get the whole "veteran duelist" concept, but I liked how with old Fiora she was this young yet deadly duelist. You can actually have her be a veteran duelist even if she's middle aged, I just feel like Riot tried too hard to make her this older woman just for the sake of achieving said veteran duelist fantasy more easily than if she was younger.

I've been currently messing around with Wooxy, and let me tell you, Old Fiora with this current kit looks soooo clean. We should at least get a Traditional Fiora skin, just to preserve old Fiora's look.

Yeah, a traditional skin for Yorick and Galio would be amazing, same to Warwick.

Brown Armor/Cape Yorick?

And what would Warwick be? He looks pretty much the same-ish.

All traditional skins keep what makes the champion stand out in their reworked versions. Both those champs' traditional skins would be basically Chromas. WW would still have his arm and those pods on his back and Yorick will still have his cape

Yorick would have those dirty teared clothes with the old lamp on his back, his very common-looking shovel. His skin would be green, as if he was decaying. The ghouls could look like the original ones, and they could come up with something for the maiden, maybe making her the same colour as his old ultimate ghost.

About Warwick, the main difference is their accessories. The new one has mostly chemtech empowering systems, making him look like Bane from DC universe: a character whose sole power comes from chemicals. Old Warwick looked much more feral, more wild. Instead of pumping himself with technology, he chose simple armor/weapons, embracing his new features, despite being able to have the same things as the current one.

I totally disagree with the statement that their traditional skins would be chromas, mostly because you think that they would have the same features: "WW would still have his arm and those pods on his back and Yorick will still have his cape". Those are key features to the new version, not the old one.

Traditional Karma for example, is the only Karma skin without the weird cape behind the dress kind of thing. Her main differences are the dress, her hairstyle and the fans (that appear only when she dances....). Heck, Traditional Sejuani is just half-naked Sejuani riding more of a pig than boar. Is it that different from the normal one?

The thing is, every small detail matters. When Fiora was changed, people immediately wanted her "hair" back. Just one small patch over an eye. Traditional Skins by themselves show the initial concept of the champion, which has been changed from, based on either storyline (Trundle) or appearance (Sejuani, Karma).

Well yeah, but what's wrong with Chromas?

A blue-gold Galio or Brown Yorick would still be appreciated by some.

I'll always vote for traditional skins.

I totally agree, and I'm actually still a little bitter because I dropped Fiora due to the rework.

Oh for sure. But I think you'd pick her up again if she had her old model+splash. Trust me when I say that it looks amazing with the current kit.

Not it isn't. Fiora in her new artwork has the face of a total badass. She looks down on you with a superior look. Just like her attitude. New one is much better than the old.

Yes, but wouldn't it be nice to have both?

If you mean like a traditional Fiora skin yes. Original splash of hers is perfect at the moment. And downvoting me because of my opinion and its a legit one is kinda childish(talking about the ones who downvote)

Oh, I respect your opinion. It's a pity that people are downvoting.

I love her new splash, but I may be biased (or without nostalgia) because it was already updated when I started playing.

I'm just trying to say, why not both? Why not have a traditional skin?

Don't forget that her new model and rigging makes her Jokes ("...And pretty pictures!") look so fucking janky and awkward. Issues that have been raised for so long, and the most we got was a fix to her splash art so she didn't look like Cruella de Ville.

Oleandervine1 votes

Fiora did not receive new rigging in her "VGU." She still has the exact same animations as pre-rework Fiora, with maybe 1 or 2 additions.

Håppy1 votes

Are you sure? Compare pre-work Fiora's joke with re-work Fiora's joke. It's really laggy and uncoordinated, whereas pre-work's drawing with the sword was snappy and quick.

Oleandervine1 votes

That could have been some small issues that caused that, but everything about her is the exact same as before. She received no new or updated animations with her "VGU."

Agreed.

So this post is basically. Young > Older.

I don't see the issue here. A veteran is usually older because of years of experience. Usually decades and especially when it comes to martial arts.

Sort of. I'm a fan of both, I'm just frustrated that they completely scraped her old model and splash which both looked amazing. Obviously the current model+splash look great, however I think at least a traditional skin would suffice, allowing us the choice as to whether we want our duelist to be young or old.

I agree with the Traditional skin idea. Although they did retain her posture and clothing mannerism. Obviously, the current one makes more sense but this is merely a matter of taste for style.
