From all the supports with dive-happy carries, rito please.

A Slime Appears11 votes

If the carry cannot see that your blue bar lacks blue (you know, the bar that's in the middle of their fucking screen because you guys are near each other), an out of mana ping will not save you.

CaesarFlickerman1 votes

and there the fuck it is.

Woook3r4 votes

No. That blue bar is hard to make out. The eye is designed to alert the brain to sudden changes. The blue bar does not change suddenly. Yes it would be better if all players constantly kept the blue bar in mind. MUCH better. You need that info to plan ahead.

However, I think more pings could be useful. I want a good job ping. A smily or heart or something.

Although, to be honest, I use the red ping for out of mana. SO maybe we do have this covered.

CaesarFlickerman1 votes

Honestly, that's more of a skill thing, as attention to detail is an element of skill, such as knowing cooldowns you can't see and so on. Meh.

ImWaterlemonCat1 votes

and then, you decide to build AP and use mana for yourself

ZyyyZ2 votes

Can't dispute this, but then there's that big ass mini map taking up 1/8 of their screen (if max out) and they still won't look so what chance is that small blue bar has?

Tyrius15 votes

I still wish there was a "lol" ping.

Cythieus10 votes

I just want to second this. I get these carries and jungles who just want to ping they're coming and run out and then are all like "Why didn't you jump in?" Like I'm going to be slinging all that hurt with Lux's auto attack.

or type OOM in chat

And have to move our hands out of 'QWER' position? No thanks.

what? do you plan on using those abilities?

Brand Even I felt that burn!

This assumes they'll read it while diving in. They can't divert their eyes, but they can divert their ears. A ping is a genius idea.

Bowlbo2 votes

They shouldn't be diving if they see their teammates empty mana bar. I only type OOM when I am concerned that they are neglecting to read chat, based on their positioning. But it should really be an ADC's responsibility to watch their lane partner's mana pool, just as it is the support's job to do so for the ADC.

RookPusher4 votes

Mmm, no. The game is won by minimizing mistakes, which is achieved largely by knowledge sharing and communication. If you're spending time (as small as it may be) looking at mana bars before you make decisions, you're more susceptible to attacks and you're more likely to miss opportunities.

What we're talking about here is the economy of senses. I need my eyes to be looking for threats and openings. By allowing the "no mana" sound to exist, we convey they same information as either OOM or checking a mana bar, without compromising eye sight.

BlackMambo002 votes

Jesus I am glad someone understands. The whole point of the pings and updated displays is to minimize the things that move your attention from the action in a match. Since you should already be checking your life, gold, min map, spawn timers, minion locations, enemy and team locations, and tons of other things, not having to check allied mana bars would make it easier for people trying to actually pay attention do so. Typing OOM is fine sure, but if i am in the middle of a fight i am not looking in chat, and if i look at the map and see you close by, Having a ping to tell me why you are running away and help me decide on my next action would be nice.

RoyaiChaos7 votes

We need a "Rito Please" ping

Sooko6 votes

Brace yourselves... OOM Ping spamming Lee Sins and Garens are coming.

2pudge1cup3 votes

And use that as an excuse to help themselves to blue buff

Jeddy0175 votes

We also need a "warded" ping.

FluxBound2 votes

we need many pings, except the danger one

blujadajhdja2 votes

we need many pings, except the danger one

Agreed, that ping's pretty much useless. When you do use it, half the time, players think that you're pinging them to head over and don't even understand that it's a "danger" ping.

rinsujo1 votes

we need many pings, except the danger one

disagree. I like having the danger ping as an option, but we're up to 8 useful pings now (OMW, help, mia, danger, target, plus we could use "plz ward here", "enemy ward here" and now OOM) it's starting to get a little crazy. soon i'm going to have to completely rebind my keyboard so my hand is closer to the middle to use all these.

FluxBound1 votes

We have the up smartping and the V ping, they both go "X signals to be careful"

rinsujo1 votes

v ping doesn't post anything in chat, smartping does. also, generally I use v as "i'm leaving" and danger as "someone's coming, you're going to die, gtfo."

FluxBound1 votes

Actually, V does post in chat

Bleediss4 votes

Don't forget 'Out of Energy'.

Cryypter2 votes

Don't forget 'Out of Energy'.

Energy regens quickly enough to not really need a separate ping.

Watch93 votes

Not if your a Zed who was dealing with a Zhonyas with no energy

EDIT: It was a joke

I personally think this would be a cool but unnecessary addition simply because saying you are out of mana doesn't really say anything. I personally ping "danger" when I'm low on mana and my jungler/support/ADC wants to go in, and it tells them that I need to back and for them to not go in. It does the same thing without cluttering the ping indicator.

Actually doesn't tell them anything but danger.

I see people use the "Danger" ping for

"don't take that cs I want it" but don't say anything "get away from my buff" but won't say it "there is someone in that bush" but say nothing as to why they are pinging "out of mana" but say nothing

I see people ping the danger when you get hit by cc as if that ping will save your teammate after they are caught (still the person's fault for being caught but so not the point)

The point is the "DangeR" ping is NOT helpful usually. People just ping to ping sometimes and rarely say what it is and you are left to assume to either run or leave. Hell two days ago I had someone pinging danger on my top laners tower so I left assuming I was getting ganked, then yelled at me because it was them apparently telling me go go go to kill it...but they were using the danger ping and said nothing after.

The danger ping is crap lol No one ever uses it right let alone for the same things.

So just because YOU think it means don't go in doesn't mean it conveys that message to your team, they just think you are pinging danger at the enemy team and could assume it means 70 different things when you are just saying you are oom.

Jungle Lux God2 votes

Actually, "don't go in" is the exact message I convey when I use the danger ping. I ping "danger" when I'm oom, and then leave. I tell my team that I have to leave, and then they have to be careful.

A lot of what you seem to be saying is the danger ping being used poorly, and I understand that, but that doesn't mean that the danger ping doesn't accurately convey a message to your team.

ScalyManChard4 votes

New ping wheel.

"Not Ready / Cannot Engage" (for OOM or CDs or whatever) "Engaging" "Warded / Enemy Has Vision" "Go/Check Here" (for when you run to help your ally, only for him to run in the opposite direction - or if a low health enemy runs into your jungle)

Yavimawa2 votes

Would be great to have those pings. Many times I had to stretch my brain to save my ADC when they engage while I'm trying to disengage because I'm OOM or no wrads and no vision. "OMG dude why no help?!" "I had 100 hp and no mana..." too often...

Long Dong Wukong4 votes

We need V and V+drag being one set of pings, and G and G+drag being another set of pings. It's not too complicated by any means and gives tons more communication in solo Q.

V being defensive and G being offensive seems simple enough. Out of mana, Warded, Danger, Assist me, MIA etc. on V, and then Ward here, On My Way, Ult in X seconds, etc. on G.

Gib pls rito

rinsujo1 votes

I actually have my pings mapped to my arrow keys, dragging just seems like such a pain.

Long Dong Wukong1 votes

You move your hand to the opposite side of the keyboard instead of instantly pinging with V/G + Drag?

rinsujo1 votes

My hand knows where the arrow keys without looking. I can never seem to find v/g without taking my eyes off the screen, and i'd rather not risk my flash by blindly trying keys.

Long Dong Wukong1 votes

Yeah but you're taking your hand away from your skills and V/G are right next to all of your other hotkeys.

I don't care what you do or anything but that's crazy bruh

Tis a nice day2 votes

Do we have an "out of health" ping? :p

TheKingDodo2 votes

They should just make mana bar slightly thicker so your allies can actually visually estimate how much mana/resource you really have.

xGvPx2 votes

Ahri Tryn, why didn't you ult?! Tryndamere Out of mana Ahri ... LeeSin 2ez summoner 11

CrossFire21142 votes

Out of Resources/Cool Down. Remove the blaring red exclamation. I hate the sound. Make it point to their health bars not wonder what they think is so dangerous. I don't think is causes anything but rage and toxicity. Should be reinvented, it would be nice to have a new ping for a hot - key only. That's not blaring and annoying.

Eilaver2 votes

its already in the game, back ping them 3 times to suggest, 5 times to command.

BallisticMouse1 votes

Out of Energy, Out of Mana Ping that changes based on champion being played.

Yes, I desperately need an "Out of Fury" ping as Renekton. It is make or break in so many teamfights.

Though it nos as bad as the need for out of "Wind Shield" ping.

would be nice
