Am I the only one who thinks Death's dance is going to be disgusting if the buffs go through
AD up to 80 Damage reduction to Dot up to 30% from 15% of all damage taken
AD up to 80 Damage reduction to Dot up to 30% from 15% of all damage taken
Hi there. I heard you hated my damage reduction.
It's almost like the passive is you WILL live 3 seconds even if bursted hard.
Assassins are gonna love it.
And a lot of owners of the item are gonna crumble after close fights without minions close by
Isn't...
That the point?
Yeah it's cool. It didn't really make its point before, just felt like a hump of stats.
On second thought though ADCs will use it better than assassins against them as they're simply better protected.
Assassin jumps on Syndra and kills her while she ults him, leaving him at 10% health. He turns desperately towards the minions and begins frantically attacking them.
"GIVE. ME. YOUR. HEALTH!" He screams at them.
But, it is in vain. The DOT is too strong, and he is slain.
As if
+
+
+
+ 8 Stacks wasnt strong enough.
Well I guess picking graves is going to impossible now
No, he wasn't. That's an awful build no one uses.
If riot really really wanted to buff it they should have just given it 5 more ad, OR make the bleed 20% of dmg taken over 3 seconda. But both 5 ad and doubling the bleed amount of 3 seconds to 30% seems like way to much of a buff and i can see this item getting nerfed a little the patch right after if this buff goes through
illaoi might actually be viable next patch
time to celebrate
Well, not next patch, but in 7.9 (midseason patch).
30 percent over 3 seconds is more dot damage than 15 over 5
That's the point. The DOT gives you enough time to lifesteal back what you're about to lose and keep yourself from dying instantly.
Yep, and they still don't fix the one big issue of the item: the dot screwing out of combat mechanics. DD is theoretically a strong item already, but the fact that it's dot delays all mechanics that get cancled by damage by another 3sec is just very annoying and often a big drawback, especially since ad-casters(the intendet users) usually have out of combat ms from lethality items, the edge of night active that cancle upon takeing damage, and often enough stealth that reveals your position upon takeing damage.
by lowering the dot to 3 seconds rather than 5, it does help that slightly
It already is 3 sec...
huh, i guess i saw someone say 5 seconds and i believed them because it definitely feels that long.
basically every dot in the game does that. I feel like there's one (maybe two) that riot has specifically gone out of their way to make that not the case, but other than those you're still in combat. An enemy champion is damaging you at that moment, even if that champ is currently not there or is dead, that champion is still fighting you. You just might not be fighting it back.
just that every other dot is inflicted by opponents. DD is selfinflicted and occurse whenever you take any damage. Get hit by a single minion - 3sec of extra combat. I for one would built the item alot more often if it wouldn't screw with so many mechanics even if it wouldn't recive any other buffs.
How fkin hard are they trying to break illaoi?
Illaoi was strong enough to get any broke? When?
Well maybe now someone will actually buy it instead of
???
Yeah, but no one builds it right now...so it obviously needs a buff.
I build it a lot actually.
Barely anyone
CC is still a hard counter to it though. CC them to stop them from lifestealing and an extra 3 seconds wont mean much, the tick damage still goes through.
That being said I do kinda get it since armour items are getting more armour focus so they will be negating more healing.
To be honest the damage still goes through but it does make it better at surviving burst longer then a second. Overall it will likely make it better life steal item dedicated to surviving burst longer then a second. Which is fine since bloodthirster is basically same thing on squishes but gave more hp but with the change will make death's dance give 585 total hp turned into a health pool of 1950average adc at lvl 18 vs blood thrister 350 hp flat shield without damage being converted. Overall it will be a major buff but won't make the item overpowered expect maybe on
and
who both build tankish normally.
However, armor is getting buffed as well, so it should even out. And, since you take the DOT as true damage, its turning 30% of the damage you take into true damage.
No, it stores it post-mitigation.
Hmm, wonder who would be more dangerous against the self bleed effect . . . probably darius.

too maybe?
you only buy DD on riven in pretty corner case situations. and even then its usually to fish for that last 10%cdr and lifesteal quickly. it might be a little more optimal after the changes but I dont see it being core.
Why are they buffing it? It's already the perfect item?
Like, shit, this turns any ADC into a tank if they can attack fast/hard enough!
This is legitimately my favorite item in the game and I don't want to see it nerfed because it gets a buff (also, I don't want to see more players learn how to fight against it because it gets a buff, that's half my strategy).
Riot, pleeeeeease don't buff this. This is a Danger Mario item for squishy ADs with the offset that it brings lower AD with the purchase and has a MUCH easier build path than Blood Thirster, but not as easy as BotRK. You're just gonna end up Rylai's'ing it. A niche item gets buffed, it proliferates and is super obnoxious to play against, and it receives major nerfs.
You've done it before, I beg you not to do it to the item I love. I already lost my first love in this game....
RIP WotA, you will live on in my heart.
Riot: 'ADC's aren't building our bruiser or assassin items, we need to buff them until they do!'
Genius.
I used to build it on kha'zix looks very strong but as a rengar main I don't want to live in a world where every Lucian has 30% dmg reduction
Is the gold price going up? Death's dance is already a powerful item as is. Upping the damage reduction to 30% will break it. That's like having a perpetual Garen courage on you. Unless the DoT increased to more than the damage reduced, like 35%.
