Darius Q needs a cast time because being too oppressive vs melee

Riven ONLY has THREE QUARTERS of a second to decide whether or not she wants to A) dash out of range of Darius' Q, B) dash farther into Darius' Q with her shield eating up the damage, or C) ignore the Q because she'll be fine anyway. That's a very short period of time to make an important strategic decision and requires an extreme amount of skill from the player. It's intense gameplay like this that make it perfectly understandable for Riven to have an instant stun without a resource.
But really, not only is the Q change ridiculous and feels awful, but the reason behind a portion of his power being buried under full stacks of his passive is counter intuitive as well. "We expect Darius to build much more tanky items than he has previously done with the help of Bloodrage. In order to accommodate for the strength and importance of Bloodrage, a lot of Darius' base damage numbers needed to be reduced." So loading more base power into him through Bloodrage ought to influence Darius players to build him more tanky than they do now, with tank item power in general being nerfed, and his ability strength being reduced to pay for it. Okay, sure.
The logic isn't there, and while I was hoping for Darius to feel a bit more flexible to coax me into playing him a bit more, an Event Horizon level wind up on his Q makes him miserable to use. It's horrendous how these changes are working out.
The problem isn't Riven's three quarters of a second stun. The problem is than in a window provided by that stun and knock up about the same duration she can unload nearly her entire kit and murder someone before they even get a chance to react.
I was making fun of the wind up added to Darius' Q and Riven's ridiculous mobility, not suggesting that Riven's stun was okay.
