10 bans is too many, as each time any particular group or type of champion becomes viable, all of those champions are going to get banned and it becomes unfair to those who might have actually been putting in the time and effort to master those champs.

Such was the case with Udyr during runic echoes and Swain after his rework AND Malzahar.

Moreover, I feel it's wiser for players to simply learn how to counter-pick or find a safe champion.

There were 4 bans for 40 champs. at first. 10%

At 70ish champs, they increased to 6 bans. 8.5%

And now we have 132 champs. Still with 6 bans. 4.5%

It only makes sense that we get 10 bans as the roster increases. People need to learn to play more than 2 champs. Bans should NOT be seen as a way to ban OPs. Bans are meant to ban out comps, or counters. Being first or second pick in the current system is terrible because you get no ban and you have to lay your cards out before everyone. I might not matter in norms, or low elo games, but the higher you go, the worst it gets. I can't even play Gnar anymore because if I'm unlucky enough to be 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick I systematically get countered by some random Riven, Irelia or Yasuo bullshit.

Good point. Things are ok for now. But just wait for the assassin rework!

only good thing for that is you can ban out your biggest counter with 100% certainty

I will be able to ban Gnar every single game now

Strangely enough, I'll be able to counter my biggest counters, Irelia or Yasuo, every single game too.

(They counter Gnar.)
